Budding, sweet and spicy and the scent

- A budding artist's rendition of a Christmas tree complete with angel at the top. Little ones from the school across the street from my parents' home come by to bring artwork, cookies and to sing carols.

- Going to bed early and waking in the late evening to the smell of something sweet and spicy baking. Downstairs neighbor Bonnie was baking oatmeal cookies for work. In the morning I thank her by email for the good smells. It was like having a scented candle burning, only better.

- Bringing in a box of Florida oranges to the crew at the printing company and loving the scent of oranges that keeps popping up here and there.

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope good things pop up for you around every corner!

Mmmm sounds like a wonderful time in your neighborhood. Love the smell of fresh baked cookies, but most of all you have to love the artwork that the kids make at this time of year so festive, glittery and just so cute. I hope you have a great holiday season. My 55 is up.

I love the shading background on the picture - a true artist for sure!

Ah, the smell of baking cookies is the best - especially oatmeal which is one of my favs!

Oranges just smell healthy, don't they?

PS I have something I want to send you - I promise you I'm not a criminal (unless you count stealing a road sign when I was in high school), stalker (only of cheesecake) or complete freak (just partial freak) - can you send me your address? ml_madison@yahoo.com

It's great your parents get visits n entertainment from the nearby children. Smelling stuff like that usually gets me pretty hungry- I've been craving the oranges lately- bought just 1 yesterday.
We have a work Xmas party (first time) tomorrow, but it will be in the middle of a big snowstorm, on Day Off!

Bonnie was insisting that she should bring me some cookies - I said, no no - just love that smell - keep it up!

Larry -

Thank you - I will check out your blog.

Nara -

Thanks for stopping by - yes, the smell is the best thing about the baking.

Riot Kitty -

No? Me either usually. Your description of yourself cracks me up! I will happily send my address to you and can't wait to see what it is you are sending, my friend.

Kim -

I have never heard of putting orange peels on the windowsill. Pretty neat idea and I will try it. It makes oranges the gift that keeps on giving. :)

Snaggle -

Mom and dad moved to assisted living back in the fall and they get so much attention from school kids. Loved that artwork.

Mama Zen -

I thought so, too. :)

Oh, I love that orange-peel-on-the-fingers scent. You brought cheer to your workplace for sure, Lynn!

That drawing is so lovely... especially the silvery glow over it all. Definitely a wee artist :)
