Register love, more street food and cubicle lunch

- Since the Food Network's piece on Hankook Taqueria (around the corner from my office), I haven't braved the swelling lunchtime crowd, but went in yesterday around 11:15am to get an early takeout lunch. I wanted to try the Bibimbap. Gracious Pamela takes my order and I am on my way in five minutes. A lovely touch: the cash register's electronic read out scrolls: WE LOVE YOU.

- The Yumbii truck, loading up with "street food" (featuring Korean tacos) at Hankook for the lunchtime crowd. The truck rolls to locations sent out on Twitter. Yesterday's tweet: Truck pulling up at Howell Mill Rd & Defoors Ave around noon. This street food thing is fun!

- This is what I got: Bibimbap. I'm always looking for comfort food and I found it here. It was just the ticket to spice up my cubicle lunch. :) It features pickled cucumbers, steamed bean sprouts, mushrooms, and bulgogi over rice and the whole thing is topped with a fried egg with gochujang drizzled over the top. Oh yum.

Oh dear that does not look yum to me! More like my poor tum!

Love the photos though and the way you capture your days so well. :)

Omg does that look good!

And the register tape love is so cool...that would have me smiling.

Wow, no meat in that -- I thought it was beef.

Fun about the Tweeting locations. I do that about me as I go about my day in town and you should see the crowds! :) :)

I wonder if they'll be opening up additional locations? Hmmn.

Joe -

I love spicy food. And thank you - that visit to Hankook was the highlight of my day.

Pamela sends out tweets for the Yumbii truck location and posts the Hankook menu on facebook. Very upbeat and a great use of social media, I think.

Sooo good. The word LOVE caught my eye and I looked at it more intently. I love this place.

Jannie -

Actually bulgogi is marinated beef. I guess I was just trying to show off my limited vocabulary of Korean words. :)

I'm betting they are.

OMG...I don't know half the things you mentioned on the bibimbap platter, but it looks out of this world! Hope you got all the comfort you needed. :)

I like the idea of trucks coming around the neighborhoods with food. We need to have more of that in Miami...as well as cash register messages that tell us they love us!

Thank you - it becomes second nature after a while.

Lance -

It is fun - there is a blackboard on the side with the contents within written down.

The street food thing is something new in Atlanta. It used to be banned, but that has been overturned. I think it is great fun.

And I loved that message. Lovely.

Not usually. I mostly eat those Kashi frozen lunches. They are actually pretty good and South Beach Diet friendly.

Driving that truck would be a fun job! Bet it draws alot of business to the locations-
Interesting food combo- that IS an egg- I like bean sprouts at least- I'm not as adventurous as you!

Riot Kitty -

They make one taco that has calamari in it. There's another with beef brisket. They are all pretty good.

Snaggle -

Me either - she said no one ever notices that register message. I told her about my blog. :)

Ellis -

Looks as if it rhymes to me! Love it - thank you for my poem. :)
