From the 19th floor, on the way and say anything

- A view of midtown Atlanta with ominous clouds looming. My clients were having an intense discussion about their project, so I turned my attention to the view. I like the modern interspersed with the old, with Rhodes Hall (the oldest residence on Peachtree Street) and the spires of Peachtree Christian Church, both sitting right in front of the ramp to I-85 north in the lower third of the image.

- Early in the morning at my office, a coworker says she is just at work for a moment before heading out to join her son and his wife for a sonogram view of her first grandchild. She feels torn about leaving for the day. "You need to go. You'll never get this time back," I say. "That's what Tony said, too!" she says.

- The high temperature on this day was a very humid 98 degrees Fahrenheit (we must be in for a hot summer), making me forgo my afternoon walk. I ride my exercise bike instead while watching an episode of "Inside the Actors' Studio," featuring John Cusack. A lovely break and I got to watch the actor speak of one of my favorite films, "Say Anything."

Haven't seen that film. Nice view from the office! I was thinking it was almost 100 in other places as (yesterday) it was 89 here (at 4000 feet up!)

I love the movie Say Anything, too. when Lloyd says, I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that.

And, of course, the backseat of the car scene. My favorite.

It's always so neat to view a city from a different perspective, isn't it?

I adore Jon Cusack! That was time well spent :)

Nice photo! I zoomed in and took a close look at some of those interesting buildings.

I have heard it said that in the end we are more likely to regret what we didn't do rather than what we did do.

Say Anything was one of my favourite movies when I was a teenager. I haven't seen it in ages, but I still remember the soundtrack, which I had on cassette tape.

What I love about the view is how much greenery there is around all the buildings. That's pretty unusual.

So did your clients mind you talking a photo whilst they were having their discussion? :D

I love the view...almost as much as I adore John Cusack. You've inspired me...I'm going to rewatch "Say Anything!" "Better Off Dead" was a good one, too. Remember it?

Ugh - it was just as hot today. I did walk in the park after work today and lived to tell about it! :)

That's why he was so good working in the karate studio and taking care of Diane Court. I love those lines, too. :)

Talon -

I adore John Cusack, too - I think I've seen all his films.

Sparkling Red -

I'm glad you enlarged it - I love those old buildings mixed in with the new.

And my favorite scene was when Lloyd was holding up the boombox playing "In your Eyes." Gorgeous scene.

Joe -

I think some of that green space is our Piedmont Park (akin to Central Park and designed by the same man.) There are also lots of old neighborhoods with tall trees around the midtown area.

They were glad I was focusing on the view and not their discussion. :)

I love that show, too. I have my DVR set up to record it when it comes on and was delighted when I saw this one. John Cusack has a wonderfully down to earth viewpoint of celebrity and movie making.

Riot Kitty -

He is?

I did see Better Off Dead, but it's been so long that I don't remember much about that one. I also loved Being John Malkovich and Grosse Point Blank.

Hey - pretty good wrap up. Thank you for my poem!
