From the banks, seamless and peace and quiet

- From the banks of the Hiawassee River last Sunday morning. I could stand there and look at this peaceful image all day.

- The neighbor next door is a master gardener and has added lots of plants that blend seamlessly into the native flora that was already there.

- A number of kayakers, canoers and tubers went down the river over the weekend, but the best part for me was finding the random secluded spot like this. A few days of peace and quiet.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, my friends!

Wow yes the setting looks so peaceful and perfect! I could so with some of that this weekend but unfortunately with a hyperactive partner and 2 kids I won't be getting it!

Have a good weekend!

Lynn,
These really are such peaceful images, and a wonderful way to start my day...soaking in their beauty.

You too, have a wonderful weekend!

Joe -

It was not all that hot up there either - about 50 degrees on the back porch in the morning. Sigh...

Good luck with all that hyperactivity. :)

That spot is actually in western North Carolina, in Clay County - where my sis has a vacation home. I love to go there.

Lance -

Hey there. I'm glad I could start your day off that way. :)

Lynn,

I loved all the pictures. I agree with you about the first one; it's very peaceful.

I like how your neighbor has used the rocks around the plants. They look kind of like river rocks, which is cool.

The last picture is my favorite. It makes me wonder who has sat in that bench, which looks made for two.

It would make a wonderful photo for my Story Photo series. Let me know if you're ever interested in doing a guest post using one of your pictures.

This was a very peaceful post and good beginning toe weekend. Thanks:~)

Just gorgeous, Lynn. Water is so soothing and that bench looks like the perfect place to let it drift right on by :)

What a gorgeous spot!!!

Do you drink your morning coffee there, then your evening aperitif?

And holy cow it IS Friday, in just 30 minutes Kelly will finish her last day of this school where she has gone these past 4 years. The time just flew!!

I didn't realize your post was a true story - I thought it was fiction. I didn't realize what kind of work you do. (Reading Talon's comment.)

Sara -

Certainly - you may use that photo for your photo story post. I'd be glad for you to use it. I have a blog email address that I forget to check (you can scroll down to see it and I'll send you my real email.

I'll be in your neck of the woods tomorrow - visiting mom.

There is a really great house around the bend of the river, but on the same side. There is a path that leads from this bench area and I think it goes over there. I'm too chicken to walk through that wilderness alone - but I'll bet the path is gorgeous. That house is called the "Cliff House" - someone built it into the side of the hill - it is multi-level and really cool. It was foreclosed on and sits empty now, I think.

Mama Zen -

It really is.

Jannie -

I drink all that, but on the screened porch.

Hey - congrats to Kelly - I guess she is on to middle school now?

Into the river,
rocks lay
bring harmony
to the river
few walked
the path she tread
and peace
filled her soul
