Graffiti, multi-tasking and early to work

- The city of Atlanta now has a Graffiti Task Force, charged with covering up the work of local graffiti artists. The police chief said the city is trying to locate suitable spots for graffiti artists to "follow their muse with appropriate renderings." I think they missed this spot at the Atlanta Water Works park. :)

- A young man walking down the street, listening to his MP3 player and reading a hardback book. That's what I call multi-tasking.

- The train whistle at the Lawrenceville Highway crossing during the very early morning hours suggests that someone else is already at work.

I am afraid that I am well past the point of being able to walk...and read.

I always wonder how graffiti artists get away with what they do...like when Basquiat went around NYC signing his work, "SAMO" (stands for same old sh*t) and for a long time no one knew who this SAMO was.

The multi-tasker sounds hilarious! :)

I wonder if the graffiti artists will honor having specified spots?

I can't read while in motion - it makes me get a headache (and also makes my traveling read-less) :)

I can't read and listen to music at the same time.

Actually I can't write a blog post with music going too. The music always dominates my every thought! :D May explain why Im a dj!

I'm not a fan of graffiti art. It looks like vandalism to me. The multi-tasking, however, I'm all over this.

I know! I see people at the park walking a holding books, too - I don't know how they do that.

Some of the graffiti in Atlanta is quite elaborate and sometimes beautiful. There is a tunnel in sort of an edgy part of town that has totally been devoted to it and I always looked forward to seeing the updates.

I doubt it - probably just more of a challenge now. But the the new laws say it's a felony conviction if they are caught. Yikes.

I like quiet while I'm reading, too. I'm sure that does have something to do with the DJ thing.

I'm a pretty good multi-tasker, but I don't think I can walk in traffic while reading and listening to music. :)

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of graffiti?

I'm like Joe, I can't read and listen to music. But then, I am not a believer in multi-tasking.

Are you sure he wasn't from Portland? That sounds like typical hipster multi-tasking to me!

They go around erasing
What they go around making
If the two ever meet
There’d be paint in the street

That is what I call an accident
Waiting to happen

Someone got out of bed
To blow a whistle
That would wake the dead

Yes it would. Good point!

I'm forced to multi-task, but I draw the line at walking and reading.

Nope - ATL. :)

I like it! Thank you for my poem. :)

Snaggle -

It's OK - I know you are busy. That is a stiff punishment - I don't know what this world is coming to.
