Here comes the bride, the groom and windows

- It's Random Photo Thursday and we have three of them today - all taken on Saturday, May 21, 2011. (Click to enlarge.) This one was a bride on a photo shoot in Central Park.

- And there's the groom at the bottom of the steps. I love the boats in the water.

- Later that day, a man rather precariously washes windows.

Why do I think of Stewart Little and the boat race in the fountain? I guess it's just me. I <3 NYC

Wow Lynn...who washes the windows (there) like that? It doesn't seem very safe. One wrong move and....I'm flabbergasted. Hope that your day reveals something good!

Maybe I'll have to post photos of the bride and groom I saw in Kota Jakarta the other day!

That's the kind of thing I do when I wash windows or cleaning out the gutters. :D

I don't know how those window washers do it - I get weak-kneed just thinking about the height!

I liked that, too - especially that they chose to do that on a busy Saturday in the park.

happygirl -

I had forgotten about that! I heart New York, too.

It doesn't seem safe - I agree. Couldn't resist snapping that photo.

Sage -

I hope you do - can't wait to see all your travel pics.

Joe -

Seriously? Be careful!

Same here!

That's what you call a wedding with alot of uninvited strangers!
I couldn't ever get used to being in those crowds... Good pics tho!
Definately a nimble window washer! I'd prob tie a line on me...

That window washing guy makes me appreciate my desk job more. :)

Ellis -

Short and sweet - I like it!

Riot Kitty -

I know - what if you felt faint one day???

Cloudia -

I invented the very tongue in cheek Random Photo Thursday one day when I didn't have a photo from the previous day. That is usually my intent - to have a photo every day.

Snaggle -

Wonderful wedding photos, I think. :)

Lovely fountain.

He doesn't seem to have a safety rope attached or is it that I missed it.

Lynn said...

Anil P -

No - no safety rope at all! That was what was so alarming. :)

I love that fountain, too. It is Bethesda Fountain and is one of the most well known and recegnized fountains in the world. The centerpiece of the fountain, "Angel of the Waters" was designed by Emma Stebbins, who was the first woman to receive a commission for a major work of art in New York City. The fountain is located on the lower level of Bethesda Terrace. The winged female figure is said to symbolize and celebrate the purifying of the city’s water supply when the Croton Aqueduct opened in 1842 bringing fresh water to the entire city. In one hand, she holds a lily, the symbol of purity and blesses the water with her other hand extended. Below the "Angel of the Waters" are four smaller figures symbolizing Temperance, Purity, Health, and Peace.
