Eeyore, I choose purple and good answer

-  Delighted by a Christmas Eeyore spotted on a very nice client's desk; my favorite character from the Pooh books.  He says his mother gave it to him and he brought it in to work.  Eeyore resides in the southeast corner of the 100 Acre Wood, an area marked as "Eeyore's Gloomy Place: Rather Boggy and Sad" in the land where the Winnie-the-Pooh characters reside.  My client doesn't seem particularly Eeyore-like to me, just quiet, with slightly sad eyes.

- Another very nice person - Jennifer the dental hygienist, who lets me choose the color of my new toothbrush.  Purple, I say.  :)

- From friend Jerry: "My son asked Santa for an iPhone and he replied, '...my elf workshop doesn't make iPhones, the Apple Company doesn't allow us to make them and they are really expensive.'"

I hope the weekend brings you delight, fun choices and good things, my friends.  Have a great one!

Sadness with Christmas, why?

Greetings,

Why was Eeyore sad?

So did they have a purple toothbrush?

That Santa will be every parent's favorite. Good answer.

Christmas does make some people sad, but not me. Eeyore, however, is sad all the time. Not sure why someone thought of making a Christmas theme Eeyore, but I liked it. :)

Granny Annie -

It's just the way A.A. Milne wrote the character - perhaps as a foil to all that positivity from Pooh, Piglet and especially that crazy Tigger!

From Wikipedia: "Eeyore is generally characterized as a pessimistic, gloomy, depressed, anhedonic, old grey stuffed donkey who is a friend of the title character, Winnie-the-Pooh."

Yes - they did have a purple one! I had a wild day yesterday, but was one thing that went right. :)

And yes - that was a wise Santa.

Purple is a fine choice!

My dentist never lets ME choose my toothbrush color.

Hope today will not be as wild as yesterday. (as per your response to Grannie.)

I like Tigger!! :)

I discovered I was a melancholic personality type and so is Eeyore. I need to get me an Eeyore for my desk. And, I think Santa should stock up on iPhones. I think a lot of good little boys and girls will be asking for them this year. They pay for themselves 10x's over. I have an app for my Etrade account. Booya!

I could have picked Black, too. That seems like an odd color for a toothbrush to me.

Jannie -

I think today will be good! :)

Yeah - I agree with Santa - 5-year-old boys don't need iPhones. Although I am quite attached to mine - I'm with you on that.

I can just hear Eeyore sighing as I look at him there :)

I love Jerry's (Santa's) response.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend, Lynn!

OK this is weird - Mr. RK, as you may know, works with someone they call Eeyore. And my hygienist's name is also Jennifer, and last week she gave me a purple toothbrush! I am not making this up.

I think Eeyore makes a lovely reindeer decoration for the holiday. He was my fave because of the comical grumpy streak-
Cleaned teeth always feel so good. I have several bright, multi-colored, extra-soft tooth-brushes. On the green, yellow, blue one now. Few teeth lsft to clean tho-
Santa has some stiff competion from the Apple folks alright!
Have a good week-end!

RK, wow! synchronicity city!

I, too, had a visit with my dental hygienist this week... "Oh, is that sensitive," she asked. "No, you're drowning me," I answered. "Didn't you get the memo that waterboarding is no longer legal." She laughed and ordered me to open back up.

My eldest would love the Eeyore. She really loves him. I think there is something appealing about his sadness, maybe we can relate a bit?

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy brushing your teeth with your new purple brush!

Your friend Jerry's wit and humor made me smile : )
My 15 year old teasingly asked for a Mercedes on her Christmas list. I told her Santa wasn't making them this year. A few evenings later we saw a commercial on TV advertising her car for Christmas. We had a good laugh over that.

Me, too. I spotted him from across a crowded room.

Mama Zen -

Good idea!

Cloudia -

Thank you for coming by!

Riot Kitty -

That is quite a coincidence!

Synchronity City is a great term - I like that. And not easy to spell this time of morning. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed Eeyore. He's my favorite, too.

Sage -

Waterboarding is a good term for that. :) Hehe.

Joe -

Yes - I think we can relate.

John -

Thank you, my friend.

Leonora -

I'm glad I gave you a chuckle. And she might as well ask for a Mercedes, right? All you can say is yes or no. :)

Interweb Fails -

Sorry to hear that!

I too love Eeyore, though I have a soft spot for Tigger as well. And have glorious soft toy versions of both.
