Out of the cold, bright and warm and six degrees of separation

- My mother's geranium that I've had here since 2009.  That's one of its blooms there to the right above my blogroll.  I usually cut it back for the cold weather months after bringing it inside, but it is persisting in its blooming, so I think we'll wait on that a bit.

- The sunlight in my kitchen on a bright Sunday morning.

- Attending a gallery showing of an artist's beautiful work and discovering how small the world is once again when three guests are astounded to see each other there and discovering we all know each other from different places and lives.

You are a wonderful nurturer as demonstrated by the ability to care for you mother's germanium.

We are under cloud cover this morning as we prepare to head to Tulsa for medical stuff.

How fun to run into three friends in one place. You must get around girl.

I'm always amazed at how small the world really is when I meet people and realize how we have friends/relatives in common! Crazy.

My 22 year old son told me about the 6 degrees (?) of separation w/Kevin bacon. What a stitch! Who thinks up these things??!

This past weekend, my son had to meet with a group for a project at his university. I picked him up at work and drove past my house to his dorm and dropped him off. About 1/2 hour later we hear the front door open up and he strolls into our kitchen and says "You'll never believe this." My friend drove me to where we are working on our group project (where a fellow student lives.) "And it's right across the street!" We only have about 6 houses on this mountain so to have him show up across town at our front door...was a stitch. It's a small world, indeed.

I love how small the world is. I once ran into a friend of mine from HS while I was in Rome, Italy on a business trip. It floored me. Gorgeous geranium. LOVE the color. :)

Geraniums that last so many years are very rare- Here 2 years is good. (My last only made 1, even after wintering in the backroom. Guess it got too dry. I;m glad the aloe made it tho-
I've been cloudy almost every day of vaca here, plus it's really cold! haven't done alot besides the rest- but so need it.
So cool to find out how small the world is in connections!

Granny Annie -

Thank you - I like to think so. I hope your appointments went well yesterday - a bit of a journey, as I remember. And I get around a little. :)

Joanne -

So true - one of the people the other night was a guy I worked with at BellSouth that I probably would have never seen again.

I don't know, but it's amazing when it happens.

That's also amazing that happened with the meeting on your street. How funny! I wonder if your son goes to Appalachian State?

Good luck - I don't have such a green thumb, but have identified some plants I can keep alive. :)

My mom always had mint growing in the back yard - she said it "volunteered."

That's awesome that happened. One of my friends moved to Los Angeles and when I went to visit her, we ran into some people we knew indirectly sitting on a restaurant patio.

So true.

Hilary -

When Lisa did my blog redesign, she went through old posts and found a photo of that geranium from when I was trying out the macro setting on my camera and put it there. She had no idea that was a special plant. Neat, huh?

Cheers to you!

Joe -

Thank you. :)

Leonora -

Thank you - you have a blessed Thanksgiving, too!

Mama Zen -
