We give thanks, there was good chatting, too, and nap

- The annual pre-Thanksgiving cornucopia at my church.  The fruits and vegetables are donated to local food co-ops.

- A burger cooked on a charcoal grill at the neighborhood picnic on a warmish November Sunday.  Not to mention baked artichoke dip.  And crunchy potato chips!  Plus Diet Coke flavored with lime.  And my secret recipe brownies, warm from the oven, were a hit.  :)  Yum.

- Late afternoon reading in my favorite spot - the blue upholstered chair in my bedroom.  And being lulled to a drowsy sitting up nap by the quiet, plus the distant sound of the clothes dryer rumbling.

The cornucopia looked wonderful. And I am all in favour of afternoon naps. Blissful.

Hi Lynn .. the fruit and veg make a great photo and are a lovely donation for those in need ... while your Sunday lunch time burger with extra special additions sounds very good - no wonder a zizz in a comfy chair came about .. glad you were working in the background via the tumbler!

Cheers Hilary

That cornucopia is absolutely priceless. To show such abundance in offerings to others should be a lesson for every church.

Wish I could have pulled up a chair at your lunch yesterday. Especially in time for those secret, hot brownies.

I curl up in the corner of my living room love seat with my new soft fuzzy throw and my Slim snuggled next to me. We looked out the window at soft drizzling rain.

I love 'sitting up' naps : ) I wake from these feeling so refreshed.

The Elephant's Child -

We used to share our church sanctuary with a Slavic congregation, who met there in on Sunday afternoon. They did the first cornucopia for us as a surprise. It was just there the Sunday morning before Thanksgiving when the sexton unlocked the church. They continued to do it the next few years, until they got their own worship space. Now the woman who arranges the flowers for the church arranges that and everyone brings in the donations.

And I never seem to get enough napping. It was lovely.

Hilary -

A zizz - I like that word!

Cheers to you!

Granny Annie -

Thank you. And I wish you could have done that, too! Sounds as if you had a wonderful afternoon snuggling with Slim. I love a drizzly day when I can stay home.

Leonora -

Me, too - can't get enough. :)

I think we have some cold coming in - my computer tells me it is 41 degrees out. Cold for us. :)

The food at your picnic sounded delish. And the Cornucopia is beautiful the way the church decorated it. Nice to give something to others. Sandie

I like the distant rumble of a clothes dryer, except for when it's got a noisy zipper rolling around in there. That bugs me sometimes, depending on my mood. :)

That Sunday sounds like a wonderful dream!

And I gravitated towards the breads in the cornucopia -- in total carb mode the past couple days on some awesome rolls I bought. With butter, oy. Fattening myself up for the winter, I guess. :) But Mother Nature knows best! Wish she'd whip me up a batch of brownies about now. :) But then again, I best be getting to bed, it's much past my time. But wanted to relax with a few of my fave blogs before nodding off.

Wow what an amazing selection of food! Our church ends up with a pile of baked beans and soup. :D

A mouth watering bunch of produce some lucky folks will get to eat thanks to your church-
Hamburgers are one of my fave foods, tho I've cut way back. I bet your brownies are heavenly. I'm happy to have some hot Swiss Miss cocoa tonight, to ward off the chill.
White noise is a big help to dozing off for me too. I'm so tired that reading blogs is putting me out this week- I did get up hours early today tho. Glad I finally got a comment in here!
