Rain delay, it wasn't just me and great dessert

- Walking at 11am instead of 8:30am on Saturday morning.  It was raining pretty steadily earlier, but at 11am it was down to a light to nothing drizzle.  Beauty can still be found in puddles, I think.

- Attending a lecture in the afternoon about Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, whose work is on exhibit now at our High Museum in Atlanta.  I mention the little nap I had during the droning lecture and my friends say they fell asleep, too.

- Discovering the second half of a dark chocolate bar in a ziplock bag in the pantry for an Oscar worthy dessert.

Funny enough, I put a picture of one of my favorite chocolate bars as my header - dark chocolate, of course :)

Strange to see the rain when all I see out the window is white! :)

Oscar worthy dessert? That sounds tasty.

Did you enjoy the chocolate and the Oscars?

Our "puddles" here are white. ;-) More snow on the way, they say.

Okay, where's my found half bar of chocolate eqivalent?! :) All the ice cream is gone, as are those yummy sugar cookies. I had an apple, but it just didn't quite satisfy! :) Oh well, I'll get some treats tomorrow, on my trek for more Large Flat rate boxes. I think the 3 Whole Foods carmelita-esque treats for only $5.00 are a great deal. I keep 'em in the freezer. When they are nice and hard, they seem to last much longer. :) This time I'll even cut them in half and individually wrap em, as they are BIG!

I remember on Joni Mitchell's 1st album that she described the puddles in "Michael From Mountains." I'll have to Google to remember the lyric.

cheers!

xoxo

That's really sad that someone could make two very interesting artists into a boring lecture! You were polite to stay, even if you napped ;)

I am with Riot Kitty. I would think that it would require a special 'talent' to turn those two in dullsville. Mmm chocolate.
And I love puddles. The child in me perhaps...

For a minute there I thought you went to a rained out baseball game! I had a few lectures in college that did that to me too! especially the slideshows in the dark were tough when tired... Thought you might splurge for Oscar time- lucky find! I'm saving some dark chocolate for Day Off this week.

Ah - I had a look at it. Chocolate is a beautiful thing...

It's raining again this morning - so hard that it kept me awake during the night with the rain pelting the windows.

Michael -

It was!

Sandie -

I enjoyed the chocolate for sure, and the one hour I watched of the Oscars before going to bed. :) I recorded it, and will finish up at some point.

FB -

That's what I hear. Be safe!

Jannie -

Now I have to go to Whole Foods to see what you are talking about. :)

And that puddle song sounds like a blog post!

xo

Riot Kitty -

It was a full house, and I would have made a spectacle of myself by leaving. :) I was hemmed in.

He had a power point presentation, of all things. I remember very little about it, but do look forward to seeing that exhibit. They were indeed extraordinary.

The Elephant's Child -

It was kind of a preview to the exhibit - and lots of info about the Trotsky relationship. Perhaps it was the rainy weather that got to me.

I like puddles, too.

Snaggle -

That chocolate was so rich that it begged to be savored a little at a time. It's history now though!

I've had staff meetings that were just as interesting as that lecture, and did pretty much the same as you did. :D

Personally, I perfer the beauty of a light rainfall in the spring and summer as opposed to the winter.

Lynn! It was soooo sweet of you to say you missed me! I am touched and appreciative! I miss my old blog! Wordpress is no real fun, at all. You can only post ONE photo at a time...and even my own Mother cannot figure out how to "Follow" me. Ug.

I have been busy with 'life.' I have a soon to be graduating from high school and going to community college daughter that is keeping me very busy! Her birthday is March 8th and she has 'plans.'

Also (sadly) we found my father-in-law UNCONSCIOUS (here I do mean bluish gray, passed out in his dinner food, mouth open, drooling.) It was horrifying and I had to perform parts of CPR on him until the paramedics arrived. It has taken me a whole week to recover from it. Seriously. He is well-enough (now, to our amazement!!)after a 3 day hospital stay and change in his blood sugar meds. He just arrived 'back home' and surely is on his walker. But for instance, today, the nurses aide for him got stuck on the ice at the bottom of our mountain subdivision. Ug. Hope she gets home!

So--it is all I can do (at times) to keep my head ABOVE water---here.

I will check your blog now!

Check out my pics today of our super huge ice storm! It will blow your socks off, Lynn! Hoping you are very well, dear one. :-)

Luckily, for us, it is supposed to go to near 50 degrees today---or we would be in a MESS of trouble here. This 'should' melt.

We're technically in a drought still here, but I'd like some sunshine soon. :)

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry to hear that about your father in law - I'm glad he is doing so much better than expected and that you were on hand to help him, too. A blessing, really.

And yes - your life sounds very busy. I'm glad you are OK - I've missed seeing your smiling "voice" on my comments.

My friend Whitney has a Wordpress blog and posts multiple photos - here's a link: http://glimpsinggrace.wordpress.com/2013/02/16/296/ She is a delightful friend who is Presbyterian pastor in Cameron, NC. I'm sure she wouldn't mind a question about that in comments.

Again - good to hear from you! I'll be over at your blog shortly.

We have so much rain in the UK that I find it hard to find any beauty in it!!

Wow I wish I could sleep in until 11.00am. I average about 5 hours sleep a night at the moment.
