Autumn Equinox, Sunday walk and much flora

Another Sunday morning walk...

- It rained all day on Saturday - a lovely rain, really.  And they said it would rain on Sunday, too, but it didn't.  I was sitting on my back porch, basking in the cool morning, when I just had to enjoy a walk on this beautiful morning of the Autumn Equinox.  The leaves have begun falling already, as you can see above on the Greenway Trail

- I love the islands of plantings along the trail - the prevailing color on this day being blue and purple flowering things.  The one above is Ageratum, with its full technical name on the photo below.  The garden group who maintains the plantings is great about labeling everything.

- My mother loved Ageratum and this made me think of her.

- More blue flowers, these weren't labeled.  I'll bet someone knows what it is.  A little dog (one of those tiny dogs you could put in your purse) came sniffing up, its smiling owners close behind.  The dog lagged behind for a moment to hang with me, then trotted after the couple when they called.

- There was just one of this flower with its feathery foliage.  Love the purple.  It was a refreshing walk and just the right songs came up on my iPod.  A perfect walk.

It would be great to have some rain here at the moment. We're experiencing an unnaturally hot spring. Storms are predicted for Saturday...hopefully, no damage comes with them...just a drop in the temperatures.

I'm really not ready for autumn yet. Yesterday afternoon here in the UK the sun came out and I even managed to do some sunbathing, it was that warm. A few days ago we had the central heating on in the house.

Joanne -

I know - I love this time of year.

Me, too - I was always asking her if some flowering plant or other was Ageratum and she would laugh and shake her head no. It got to be a little joke, and I couldn't have told you what it looked like. So it was a happy surprise to see it there at the park. And it's a lovely blue.

Elephant's child -

I'm glad - good memories. I love autumn.

Riot Kitty -

I know - it rains all the time there. I'd fit right in - I like rain. :) No complaints from me.

Naomi -

It was lovely - yes, lush. I love it there.

Hilary -

Isn't that nice? They are master gardeners who do that without payment.

Cheers to you!

I can only imagine how hot it gets there. I hope it is tolerable.

Joe -

That seems warm for the UK. I hope you liked it.

There's nothing better than a perfect walk. I'm pleased you're getting slightly cooler weather. We're still in wait for that, but we have been getting the rains.

I've missed my walking because of the rain, but I have noticed the changes in the plants. I have one crepe myrtle tree that's still blooming, but only a small part of it. The leaves in my Japanese Magnolia tree are turning yellow, a clear sign of fall.

Thanks for sharing the photos of your walk:~)

Sara -

My neighbor pulled her summer flowers out this weekend - I'm sorry to see them go.
