Late bloomer, favorite month and southern treat

- Late blooming bougainvillea at the building I live in.  My begonias still have blooms, too, and it's hard to think about pulling them up, as my closest neighbor has (in preparation for pansies and violas.)   Still - odd to see flowering shrubs, like the one above, while leaves are falling all around.

- That being said - October is my favorite month.  The afternoons are still warmish here in Atlanta, but lovely out and it's fun to see so many people outdoors at the park not covered in sweat.  :)

- A gathering of women at church (aka "circle"), where the treat for the evening was Coca Cola cake - a chocolate sheet cake, with Coca Cola in the cake and frosting.  It was particularly welcome since most hadn't had dinner yet (cake as prelude to dinner - I like that.)  We left after a nice hour together so we could all go home to watch the Braves in the National League playoffs.  Maybe tonight will have a better outcome for the Braves.  :)

Fall planting, leaves falling, slightly cooler weather and major league baseball playoffs - it all says fall to me.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friends.

I love the flowers. Was the Coke cake good - I have the recipe, but I have never made one.

Summer has reached back for one last hurrah today - T-storms, humid, and muggy. Incongruous against the autumn foliage. I do adore October. My favorite month, too. :)

Coca Cola cake? Sounds intriguing!

Hope you have a beauty-filled weekend, Lynn.

I dunno certain sweaty people can look good. I'm not one of them. :D

I read this "so we could all go home to watch the Babes in the National League playoffs," and was thinking this is an unusual gathering of women.

I think I need to sleep.

Woohoo. Autumn is my favourite season. Warm enough to do things without melting into a grease spot (goodness how attractive) and cool enough to snuggle into bed. Bliss.
Have a great weekend.

This is my favorite month, too. The Braves and Tigers both won yesterday. Yay!

We are feeling light rain and cool Autumn breezes today. I am busy looking for indoor projects to keep me occupied when all my outdoors will be mostly seen through the windows.

I've never heard of that cake, sounds interesting! Fall is my favorite season too. We had a sunny, 70+ degree day here today though, and that was nice after a week of rain.

It's still slightly muggy here, too, but still beauty-filled. :)

Some people, but I'm not one of them either. Maybe you do need some sleep!

Elephant's Child -

I love it for all those reasons, too. :)

I'm a chocoholic, too - this wasn't as chocolatey as I might have wanted, but still pretty good. I hope you weekend is grand, too. Love that word grand.

I know - so much better than that Thursday game.

I think I know why you are staying indoors - I hope all is better today.

Pretty Flowers. Haven't seen any since I was in Miami in 2001. We have a few fall blooms around too- Wild. purple New York Asters, Marigolds, n Mums all over. Glad the temps are better there this week. I hope the coming Karen storm is kind to you n your Florida Pan-handle folks.
Sometimes for me the cake is dinner... The Red Sox are 2-0 in play-offs now! Maybe they'll get to play the Braves.

I guess you do have cake available all the time.

Thank you for thinking about me and my family - looks as if it turned out to be mostly must rain.

Hilary -

I'm glad your weather is still nice - especially with all the traveling you've been doing.

Cheers to you!

November for you is like October is here now, I guess.
