Bee hotel, running instead and special treat

- See the small white structure at the center of the photo?  (Click to enlarge.)  I think that might be a bee hotel.  It's in the back yard of a home that borders the park in which I walk after work.  It looks to have a series of drawers with holes drilled, so I'm sure that's what it must be.  Lovely that this homeowner has taken the time to nurture bees who pollinate the fruit trees and flowers around it.

- This walk was interrupted, as it often is, by a sudden late afternoon rainstorm.  We always need rain, so that is what makes it count as a good thing.  And it gave me the impetus to run for the car.

- My house cleaner is coming today while I am at work.  A true treat.  And just now, when I was pondering  my third good thing, I received this text from him:  "Do you like asparagus?"  Me:  "Yes!"  Him:  "I will bring you some cream of asparagus soup."  Now that's what I call a great house cleaner.  :)  Plus the house will be clean when I get home.

Friend Barb asked me on the phone last night what I have been up to.  "Nothing much, living life."  Looking forward to just living life this weekend.  I hope you have a wonderful one, my friends.

Yes, that is a bee keeper's box. Honey from your home environment is supposed to help with allergies. My grandson (six years old) is a bee keeper. He is proud of his boxes. His other grandparents actually do most of the work, but he's learning it.

That is such a wonderful thing to do---a Bee Hotel!! I bet the Bees are very very happy to have a safe place to live and to populate, too....
Have a lovely weekend, my dear.....And get the recipe for the Cream Of Asparagus Soup.....lol!

Love the bee hotel - and that you are living life. Yay. On both counts. Have a wonderful weekend.

We just had a massive tropical storm and yes, I was caught in it. I need a house cleaner like yours...I picture him looking like Johnny Depp or Robert Downey, Jr. and and surprising you with a frosty margarita (to go with the asparagus soup)...a green theme. :)

I'd love to walk back into a clean house, I'd probably pass on the soup though!

I think that's all anybody can do, live life. The rough and the smooth.

OMG, a bee hotel! That is freaking adorable.

Can I borrow your house cleaner guy?

Can one actually get honey from the bee hotel? I know our bees in the US are endangered and many new bee keepers are getting into business. I wonder if it would help for people to just build one bee hotel. Could catch on and help save the bees. I think I best look into that since I have room for one.

We need more bee nurturing to be going on....they're such wonderful creatures.

What a beautiful spot that is.

Honey bees are tougher to keep these days, good of them to run a hotel! Wonder if they harvest honey too...

Good thing you can sprint n run if you need to! Means you're in good condition- even in the heat n humidity.

Lucky you getting free lunch n help with cleaning- Wish I did, so hard to get to floors these days. Really need serious time off to get it done, n not allowed vaca time until the fall now due to tourist season.
I don't like asparagus tho- Nice of him to ask!
