Rich and sweet, lingering and too good to pass up

- A young Magnolia tree along the walking path at Tanyard Creek Park near my office in Atlanta.  The scent of its blossoms called out to me as I passed and I just had to stop.  A rich and sweet aroma.  That's the dog park just beyond there - no dogs playing on this day though.

- The scent of Rosemary from the potted plant on my porch lingering on the kitchen shears after snipping off a little.

- Thin and crispy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies brought in by a coworker.  They looked too good to pass up.

Here's what else is good this morning - looking forward to the weekend!  I will be watching the Belmont Stakes on Saturday.  I'm pulling for California Chrome to be the first triple crown winner in 36 years.  So exciting!

Magnolias have a nice scent... And Rosemary is a nice spice for meats and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are my favorite. Sounds like a blessed day.

Love love those flowers! We have lousy ones here; they look air-starved and they grow so high up on the trees you can't see them up close!

Mmm... oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are my favourite. I can get really good ones from a store just a few blocks away, but I try to resist because I could totally make myself chubby if I had them in the house all the time.

Triple treat.
And aren't scents about the most evocative thing ever. There are some which take me time travelling each and every time...

My dearest friend used to always bring me magnolia blossoms from her beautiful tree. I can smell them just seeing your photo.

I love oatmeal cookies and I love chocolate chip cookies but not oatmeal choc chip. Just sounds wrong for some reason.

This is the first year in ages that I have missed the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness and did not even know the same horse had won both. I'm setting every alarm in the house to make sure I don't miss Belmont Stakes tonight. Go, go California Chrome!!!

I love magnolia blossoms. So beautiful and fragrant, but not overwhelming.

I'm so late for this post...I also wanted the Triple Crown, but it wasn't to be. I wonder if they will decide to make some changes in this racing series. I can't decide how I feel about that. I can remember Secretariat. He was an amazing horse!

Our Magnolias are also blooming. They are such beautiful flowers, aren't they?

Beautiful Magnolia- Haven't seen any near here in awhile. I like to put herb clippings in my pockets just to smell them. My daughter got me Lemon Thyme for Mother's day, so I have that plus regular, Mint, n Lavender - oh n the Basil in the house over a year old now from seed.

Too bad the colt didn't take the distance well- it is a long race for the 3 year olds- heard he had a gate issue. I wanted to be a horse trainer when I was young, before I realized how much money horses were to upkeep-

My week-end was a blur...
