Baby Beluga, no ferris wheel for me and fire on the mountain

- Scene from the shark exhibit at Georgia Aquarium.  Sister, niece and I were there on Friday afternoon.  I like how the sun rays are coming down into the water from the skylight - a docent said that is natural light.  We also loved seeing the pregnant Beluga whale, Maris.  A friend was there on Saturday and said that exhibit was closed because the staff was readying the tank for the impending birth, which happened appropriately enough, on Mothers Day.

- No one would ride the SkyView ferris wheel with me - there it is in the distance.  Sigh.  I am going to rally some friends to go at night.  My first Bell System job in Atlanta, way back when I was in my early 20s, was inside the Equitable building - the black building there on the left.

- And later Saturday night - there was the laser show/fireworks display at Stone Mountain Park.  Niece took this photo - I labeled it "Fire on the Mountain" after that old Marshall Tucker Band song.  In all the years I have lived in Atlanta, this is the first time I've attended this.  I can cross that off my bucket list now.  :)

Funniest moment - niece laughing when I fished in my purse while driving, after a pollen related sneezing attack and came up with a clean tissue.  Niece says her mom and I are two peas in a pod.  We always have tissues, etc.  Oh - the millennial generation!  She also didn't want a wine glass, opting for a red solo cup (I keep those on hand for picnics.)  I loved their visit, can you tell?

It does indeed sound like a WONDERFUL visit. Something to hug to yourself, and bring out in dark moments.
Beluga whales? Oooh. And ahhh.

I would ride the ferris wheel with you, gladly!!! Can no longer go on the Zipper, but ferris wheel for sure.

GORGEOUS aquarium photo. Natural light indeed can't be beat.

Sorry I've not been around. Still love you -- probably more than ever, actually!!!!

Feeling a little better now after the loss of our little dog. Was going to post Kelly's balance beam 9.525 gold medal winning performance earlier tonite on FB but her iPad froze up and it did not happen. Hoping maybe tomorrow it will cooperate.

It sounds like you had a great time. I've got to be careful when fishing around in my purse...I usually use toilet paper (unused, of course) rather than tissues! lol

Glad you had such fun, but sorry you missed the Ferris wheel. I hate when others decide not to do fun things. My sis wouldn't take me to Bush Gardens on my last trip to Tampa FL, n so I've never been there n now can't make the trip. You can always dream you went for the ride tho. As youngsters me n that sis got stuck at the top of a broken Ferris Wheel, so she'll never ride another! Funny both those things are in your post here-
Cool fireworks pic.

And thank you for sharing their visit:~) I loved the first picture with the light shining through the water. Wow. That's pretty.

You wouldn't want me on the Ferris Wheel with you as I get sick. I can't even ride the spinning cups -- you know the ride the little kids go on. When my kids were little, their father had to take on any rides!

It sounds like you had nice visit with your niece and sister. Oh, and it's really cool that the baby whale was born on Mother's Day!

The ferris wheel looks like the London Eye.

The Firework shot looks good. I can tell you had a wonderful time!

That's quite a variety of adventures you've had recently.

I usually have a tissue on me somewhere... although I wouldn't be able to guarantee that it has never before been used for a discreet bit of nose-dabbing.
