Meanwhile in Georgia..., the sun came out and at home

- I spotted this on facebook and laughed out loud.  Yes - after so many days of rain, it was amazing to see some sunshine.

- My day was spent indoors on Wednesday, but I managed to get to the park near the office just in the nick of time after work.  There were so many runners, walkers, playground kids out - it was like a big celebration of the sun.  I got the tail end of it, but managed to get back to my car just before the sun completely shut down for the day.

- And I was thinking how cheerful this corner of my kitchen looked this morning, so I snapped a photo of it.  I got the aluminum tray at an antique shop in Murphy, North Carolina last summer.  I love its etched vine pattern.  And when I got home with it, I couldn't think where it would go, so I put my hodge podge of sugar dish and cream pitchers on it.  It's always bright in my kitchen.  :)

Happy weekend, my friends!  I hope yours is lovely.

Your kitchen is delightful.
We seem to have largely given up on sun. Mind you, I am LOVING the rain.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Haha! We had a moment of sun like that : )
I love the cheery corner of your kitchen. It looks like an inviting place for a cup of tea.

Hi Lynn - how funny ... but yes we had that sort of brief sun moment yesterday - now it's raining again! Love the corner of your kitchen - it's glorious ... enjoy the weekend - cheers Hilary

Ha ha that first picture cracked me up. Yes it's a bit like that in the UK. As soon as it stops raining, even if it's not sunny, I head outside to do something, before the rain sets in again. Plus it's getting so dark so early now, it makes the evenings go on forever. Have a lovely Sunday Lynn.

Love this post. Of course I love all your posts. Glad you had some sunshine. Looks like we will be without for a while. I have a tray like yours and am wondering where it is. Now I shall begin the search because I want a lovely grouping like yours

That is funny. I told my co workers that when I next saw the sun, I was going outside and doing a SUN DANCE!!
One of my customers told me on Thursday, that it had rained for 21 of the past 26 days...really, I replied, I thought it was more than that!! :-)

An aluminum tray is just as pretty as and less trouble than a silver tray. Much as I love silver, I do not love polishing it!

Here's hoping you see more of the sun in the coming week.

Is that something new
something we never seen
a big ball of light
shining down at me

I took off to the park
to run a mile or two
then that ball of light
got so it I couldn't see

So what more could I do
but go into the house
and set out a try
for all of us to view

Have a great day Friday the 13 2015

Just passing through for my first time and your still life photograph of your kitchen corner is quite excellent. It looks so much like a painting I actually had to take a more closer second look. I'm a big fan of 'still life' photos myself but just wanted to pass along my compliments.
