Misty river, purple mountains majesty and stylin'

I went to sit beside the Hiwassee river and read (and sleep) last weekend - so lovely that it was a long one.  This was my first sight when I got out of the car upon arrival on Friday evening and my blood pressure lowered immediately.

The most athletic I got was on Saturday morning, when I walked at nearby Chatuge Dam (and somehow dodged the rain).

And I visited the plant nursery I like so much and loved this stylin' lady with Creeping Jenny growing out of her head.  :)

And it was back to the real world on Wednesday, but it's always good to be home, too.  Happy weekend, everyone!

Not at all surprised that your blood pressure dropped. As I viewed the photos the shoulders I didn't realise I was holding tightly near my ears dropped.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Oh, you make me want to go back to Hiawassee! Have you climbed to the top of Brasstown Bald and looked down upon Hiawassee? It is gorgeous!

Love the cool lady with the shades and hair.

Glad you had a peaceful break. Anything that lowers the blood pressure is good!

Hi Lynn - love those views and yes I'd be so happy just 'being home' too if I could visit the Hiwassee River area ... looks gorgeous - welcome back to life and the buzz of work and normality for you ... cheers Hilary

Hello Lynn, beautiful views of the river. I visited the Hiwassee River a few years back to see the migrating Sandhill Cranes. The area was very pretty. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

I envy every minute of your weekend. I did not do much physically but mental stress caused me to have lots of pain. I can almost feel the calm that went over you when you saw that beautiful scene by the river.

The running water sound is always calming. The water seems higher in that pic. Today was a rain dodger here. That garden head piece is amusing!

After reading this post, Lynn, I checked online for more information about the Hiwassee River. I can see where it would have a calming effect and glad your trip was so restful. The plant lady's hairdo fit perfectly and a great color too!
