Hello and goodbye to October...

I took this photo at the end of September, when I finally had to admit summer was essentially over in the Deep South.  We have had a warm fall, but it was time to take up that summer rug and say goodbye to summer on the porch.

The condo trees are finally getting some color.  I love the dappled sunlight in the late afternoon.

The last time I posted, I was heading to my favorite hideaway in the Nantahala Forest.  This breathtaking scene made me stop in my tracks one morning.  It's where I can relax and just breathe.

This was supposed to be my October post.  Yesterday, as I was writing October 31 for the hundredth time that day, I realized that October just ripped by.  My favorite Anne of Green Gables quote: “I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”  Me, too.

I love October also. My first child was born in October and I always think of the hurried drive to the hospital in a thick fog.

I too love October for the wonderful colour it brings.
It seemed to pass by so quickly, and now here we are in the eleventh month!

My good wishes to you, thank you for sharing your photographs, and have a happy November.

All the best Jan

Hi Lynn - wonderful views ... and this year does seem to have been beautiful up here on the west coast of Vancouver Island - I've been lucky to explore it ... if October is good I can face November and December and January! Cheers Hilary

Yep! With one blink, maybe two...October was no more. 2018 is almost no more. I don't know where this year has disappeared to!

If anyone finds it, please let me know!! :)

Happy November, Lynn, and how nice to see this post with its beautiful photos and colors. You are so right that October went by so fast and hopefully November will linger a bit. I don't expect that to happen as stores are already prepped for the December holidays. Glad you had such a relaxing getaway.
