Nickname du jour, feng shui and plum-colored sky

Tiddlywinks

- My dad has always called me a different on-the-spot nickname for as long as I can remember. When he picked up the telephone last night, he said, "Hey Tiddlywinks!" - knowing I will laugh out loud as always.

- Neighbor Marion is a retired interior decorator from the old Rich's department store. It shows in small ways, such as the pot of mums that he keeps moving around his front door, positioning it just right.

- The sky this morning is darker than usual and plum-colored; rain is on the way.

Plum colored sky, another of God's gorgeous gifts to us.

Wow, that store must've been bigger than Harrod's.

Tiddlywinks, I remmeber that game. Do they even still make it?

Rich's was the kind of place people worked at all their lives and retired from. I'll bet Macy's doesn't have that kind of loyalty. My aunt worked in that downtown store pictured in the link for 30 years in housewares.

Yep - Tiddlywinks still seems to be played a lot in the UK in particular. I noticed that when I looked it up.

Wow, 30 years.

I often call Kelly "Twiddlebop."
