Reflection, friends and recommendation

- This Cat Quilt by Susan Harlan, from the State of Georgia art collection and hanging at Georgia Public Broadcasting. I especially like the square on the upper left that shows the cat's reflection in water.

- Overhearing two elderly women at breakfast at an assisted living home chatting and discussing what they did in their past lives. Both were teachers. One says, "We are lucky to be friends here, aren't we?" They smile at each other.

- Two little girls at the church potluck lunch studying the dessert table. "Hmmm - what should I get?" I ask. One of them points to a tray of layered bar cookies and says her mom made them. I tell her if that's so then I know they will be good and select one. She beams.

Lance -

I especially love it when children are proud of their parents.

I love the quilt. A great deal of hard work went into that.

How lovely that those 2 ladies have each other. That will make their lives that much nicer.

And were the cookies good?

Joe -

I so admire the talent of the artist who made that quilt.

And the cookie was yummy. My friend Missy had them - I told her that her daughter was over at the table talking them up. :)

Me, too!

No bunny quilt that I could see. I'll look for some bunny related art. Wait - I kind of collect bunnies - look for a photo soon. :)

That quilt is a cat lover's delight! How magnificent. I can only guessitmate how many hours of work when into that masterpiece.

Don't you love synchronicity? Those two ladies are living it.

Sweets for the sweet :)

I do love synchronicity. One of those ladies brought her grand piano with her and it is in the parlor there. She played for mom and dad on the day of Abby's wedding, since they couldn't go.

Their conversation sparked a discussion with mom about how I hated Math. One of them taught Algebra. Ick!!!

I guess I'm sweet. Thank you. :)

Kewl indeed.

Can't think of a single comment to make, as everyone else really covered eveything, but we're gonna try.

I think it's great that you were able to make that little girl's day by selecting a bar cooking that her mom made.

I just loved it that she beamed and was proud of her mom.

My favorites are the kitties walking on the car (Leo does this all the time) and the kitties stretched out in front of the fireplace with kitty portraits in oval frames above the mantle. There is so much amazing detail in color in that quilt, it's really a work of art. :)

I hope I'm blessed with similar good luck in friends if I ever get to be those ladies' age. What a wonderful vignette you witnessed!

That quilt is remarkable! I LOVE all the kitties doing different things all around it, and the colors! Just beautiful.

The friends is such a sweet snapshot. Small pleasures and good company. Pretty neat, yeah?

And the little girl, how cute is that? Wonderful stuff!
