New York, NY, beacon and other view

I'm back - with lots of pictures to weed through. I'll post some this week in chronological order, beginning with my arrival in New York City on Thursday night. Remember - you can click on the photos to enlarge and see more detail.

- The flight was delayed and so I was around 10pm getting into Manhattan on an unfamiliar shuttle. So having been dropped off in a spot in which I couldn't get my bearings, I asked for help. A very nice lady pointed me in the direction of East 43rd and 2nd Avenue. This familiar landmark was like a beacon lighting the way.

- The view from inside the apartment, where sister, niece and niece's very nice husband waited with dinner.

- The view from the other side of the apartment of Tudor City. I love that rooftop garden you can see there and have never seen anyone in it. It was lovely to sleep in a little on Friday morning and play with a very charming 16-month-old little girl who was sleeping when I got in the night before.

While you were there did you see one of those pay toilets on the NYC streets and photograph it. I just read about them recently. It sounds like you had a grand time.

Sounds like you had a lovely trip, I look forward to seeing more photos soon.

Was it raining in the last shot?

I <3 NYC. I know it's cliche, but I REALLY do. I'm jealous and happy for you at the same time.

Lynn,

WELCOME HOME. I love the pictures and your comments about New York. You ought to remind people to click on your pictures. I could really see the garden when I clicked on the last picture.

That's a pretty impressive landmark to follow and again, a stunning picture. I look forward to seeing more:~)

OMG, two nights ago I was inside a restaurant with views of NYC and thought how wonderful it'd be to visit. Lucky you! Your photos are beautiful!! Can't wait to hear/see more.

Great city pics of the Chrysler Building! Love that art Deco light display- a great beacon I've seen from afar myself on my drive thru a decade ago.
I Imagine I'd need a roof garden with all that concrete around, to keep from going crazy.
Sounds like a good visit with a Little One, n a grand pic adventure vaca for your readers coming up!
Glad you're home safe.

Granny Annie -

I didn't see a pay toilet - hmmm, otherwise I'm sure my sister would have gladly paid.

I did have a grand time.

Joe -

It was raining, but it was also taken through the windowpane, which gives it a slightly fuzzy look.

happygirl -

I love it, too. :)

lg -

That late evening walk with my suitcase was a little freaky, but I never encountered anyone who wasn't nice.

Talon -

I know - I'd be out there with a cup of coffee every morning.

Sara -

I'll do that next time - good suggestion. I"m glad you like my pics. :)
