Memorial Day 2012

- The little town near my sister's river house has this lovely memorial to its fallen heroes every Memorial Day.  I am grateful and thankful for the service of each one.  This photo was taken last year, but it's where I am right now (back home later today).

See you Wednesday with river photos!

There is a little spot like this in my town, too. I love that it is there and that these service people are not forgotten.

A picture does indeed tell a thousand words. I grew up in a town like this and it brings me back to Memorial Day when I was a kid.

I hope your week-end was peaceful n enjoyable by the river at your Sisters. Great that you appreciate the dead who sacrificed to make all our freedom possible. nice the memorial has photos of the local soldiers- we just have several large bronze plaques with names in a garden qhere the ceremonies are held. Sorry you missed the parade too-
