Hydrangeas, snowfall and sunrise

- I have no photo of my own today, so looked to see what I posted four years ago in January.  And it was hydrangeas from friend Tara's garden - she was promoting a tour she was getting together to view hydrangeas in northwest France.  Needless to say, I didn't get to go - maybe someday. But I thought you'd like some flowers today.  :)

- Three years ago in January, we had a blizzard in Atlanta!  There it is above - we were asked to stay home that day and I was only too happy not to drive on the one inch of snow that fell.  :)

- Two years ago in January there was a beautiful sunrise seen there above the back of the printing company.

It's cold here this morning - about the freezing mark.  Shiver.  No snow or flowers in sight, but maybe there will be a beautiful sunrise.  I wish you all Good Things this weekend, my friends.

I love that Atlanta shuts down for an inch of snow. Here in MD, we've been known to shut down at the threat of snow. Bonus! Love the flowers. They made me smile.

Oklahoma is pretty crazy when it comes to snow, but I will say we don't close for an inch of snow.

We have zero plant to view but we have some lovely artificial flowers our California daughter sent Ron.

Love that view from the patio with the snow out there.
Wonders of nature which we seldom pause to observe.

I love this look back at Januaries past!!

What a great idea to look back like that. I forgot about the snow. People laugh at us for staying home - but we have no snow removal equipment and we all live on hills! lol

Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

Ooo, Kelly is praying for an inch of snow this year -- but she'll take more! :) It's been about 2 years since an accumulation, so we're due.

Cold here too. I see my last impatiens finally bit the dust a couple days ago. Remember my scraggly ones that started out not too bad, then roamed off to Rome as the season progressed? Well, one lasted a good long while indeed. And knowing him, (or her) it's probably left some seed. We'll see anyway.

Sorry I've been so scarce. I was in bed for a few days with cedar fever. looks like it's gonna give me a run for my money this season. Oh well -- it'll make me a better person, right? :)

anyway, having a nice little respite from the pollen's effects at the minute before I do up my next sidebar button.

France will be there. And you're still a young active chick. Maybe I'll meet you there!! :) Me, Jim & Kelly in the Tuileries some October day. May would be nice too. Cole Porter will be there playing all the songs just for us and the birds in the old pollard trees that will shade out outdoor cafes. :) Bring on the croissants!!

What beautiful hydrangeas!

Now excuse me while I fall on the floor, affectionately laughing at all of you southerners who are so perplexed by one inch of snow!
Love,
The Canadian Girl.

They do that here, too, sometimes. We don't drive well in snow. :)

Granny Annie -

The good thing about artificial flowers is that they will always be beautiful.

Haddock -

That's kind of my thing - pausing to observe. Thanks for coming by!

Joe -

Thank you and you, too!

Joanne -

Thank you, my friend.

Sandie -

That's it exactly!

The Elephant's Child -

Thank you and I hope you are having a good weekend, too.

Jannie -

I hope you are feeling better. I've never heard the term cedar fever - I guess that's like hay fever?

Going to France with you would be awesome!

xo

Riot Kitty -

I can't quite shake the chill this morning either.

Sparkling Red -

I know - it is funny. :)

Lynn, I like the photos from your January archives. Somehow, it puts things into a bigger perspective.
I do hope you will email me your address so that I might send you a little package sometime this year. It would give me great joy to see something that reminds me of you and then send it your way!

What a contrast between those first two photos!

Beautiful flowers and snow scene. How I miss the winter wonderland of NY in in December. Now that it's January I'm happy with Miami the way it is...but I am looking forward to visiting St. Louis in a couple of weeks for another hockey tournament. Love me some snow...in small bits. :)

Leonora -

Thank you - I think so, too. And I just sent my address - thank you, I'll look forward to that.

Shionge -

I didn't know that, but of course, I love it.

FB -

There is.

Ily -

Yes - I like it in small amounts, too. :)

Sorry I missed commenting on your week-end post- I fell asleep instead of reading blogs the past few nights- been under the weather, which has been icy here. The last 6 inches is compacted down now, n froze solid before I could do all the shoveling so still there!

We just get brave n drive thru it here- You learn to steer into the fishtails n go very slow, laying off the brakes n leaving alot of room between cars...

Oh I like your sunrise pic again!

I'm glad I don't have to drive in it often like you do! :)
