Sweet violas, moving and long, lost friends

- The pansies and violas I planted in November are still doing well.  The little viola faces make me happy every time I look at them.

- Moving to a new space at work and finding it unexpectedly refreshing in that I can put classical music on while I work.  Bonus - "An American in Paris" by George Gershwin comes on and I find it energizing when I need it most.  It was one of my late father's favorites.

- Two women in the grocery store, browsing the canned vegetables, look up and the delight in their eyes when they spot each other is delightful.  They exclaim, hug and begin catching up.

What is the difference in pansies and violas?

I can always work better with music playing,

I am ashamed to say that it drives me crazy when old friends find each other in the grocery store and block the aisles forever while they chat without thought of others trying to shop around them. Guess I'm just a scrooge and will try to look at it differently in the future.

I love violas. They are so perky. Good luck in your new space. It's good to have a change every now and then.

Beautiful--flowers, music and friends...

Those flowers are beautiful! I love that they're still growing!

I love seeing spontaneous reunions like that, it just makes me happy :)

Beautiful flowers! It's too cold for anything to flower here, but my mint and pineapple mint seem to love the cold.

That is so much fun seeing two people reconnecting. You look and see the joy around you.

Those violas are known as 'Forget-me-nots' here, which is a wonderful tie in with the rest of your post. Thank you - as always.

I miss my violas- they died out back in October. i can't believe you can have plants in January- Or are they inside? I have more seeds for next summer if they sprout, the one I had was from years ago, the first to ever come up.
Lucky for you to have music at work- We have zero music n radio. So boring! Great way to keep up your energy, fun score.
I like bumping into friends at the market- unless I'm in a hurry to be at work on time. Been awhile since that's happened to me. Lucky folks you saw!

Granny Annie -

I think the viola is the smaller, daintier version of the pansy.

Yes - I've had to reach around grocery store chatters, too. :)

I think it's a change for the better - I was not happy about it at first, but now I like it. I'm sitting sitting near the cubicle farm now and hearing multiple conversations going all the time, so the music helps.

Sage -

Thank you - that's it.

Joanne -

Me, too!

Riot Kitty -

The look on their faces was just priceless - it made me happy.

Pineapple mint - I don't know that one - I'll have to look at the plant nursery.

Sandie -

It's there for all of us - I just try to be aware of it.

Shionge -

Truly.

The Elephant's Child -

How lovely - Forget-me-nots. I'll call them that now. And yes, that created a bit of theme, didn't it?

Snaggle -

They are outside - cold loving pansies (at least in Zone 7.) :) I have a rosemary bush now, too, and it loves the cold.

I can appreciate moving to a new space. Sometimes all you need is that little bit of newness in order to get something that you didn't have before and be pleasantly surprised in the process.

Or hearts-ease, which is another lovely name.

All the best grocery store reunions take place by the canned veggies, so the recent studies say.

Love your violas! My favorite flowers. Johnny-jump-ups I think they are referred to also?

xoox

Why haven't I gotten into classical music? I love playing it on the piano (or used to) but I don't take the time to look for it.

Sounds like your days are full of the sweetest moments. I think we can all find good things to be thankful for every single day.

The violas are beautiful, btw.

G -

I was pleasantly surprised, for sure.

The Elephant's Child -

Heart's Ease - I can see how it might be called that.

Jannie -

I think those women were beside the canned vegetables. :)

Another good name for them!
