Rainy Sunday afternoon, the faithful and commencing

- The view from the couch.  You probably can't tell, but it was pouring rain (again), which made for a good movie watching, book reading, kind of Sunday afternoon.  Always a good thing.

- Going to book group meeting in the evening and finding there were only five of us there to talk about "A Lesson Before Dying," but the hostess looked around at us and said, "All my favorite people are here."

- An absent member's son graduated from college and reported the commencement speaker's words on social media, "Come to the edge, He said.  They said, We are afraid.  Come to the edge, He said.  They came.  He pushed them...and they flew." - Guillaume Apollinaire --

We had a rainy and tornado-y evening and were also glad to be inside. Today we must face the new storms as we travel to Tulsa for Ron's outpatient surgery.

Of course you are one of everyone's "favorite people".

Thank goodness they flew!

Did you see that you and Riot Kitty won the chicken counting contest. You tied for closest with 8. I will be in touch with the details.

Hi Lynn .. thankfully not raining here - but very gloomy and chilly!

How lovely that the book club hostess welcomed you so happily.

We need that push don't we - so we can fly ..

Cheers Hilary

I'm not sure if I get the quote but it sounds lovely. The hostess' words were so sweet. Sometimes more isn't necessarily merrier and all it takes is a couple of good spirits (and I'm not talking wine but wine would be good)...and it's good.

Love that speech, Lynn. Oh, there's nothing finer than a rainy day where it's warm enough to appreciate the drops. :)

Granny Annie -

Thank you for saying that. And hope all is well with Ron!

Yes - sad to say, not even 8 chicks, but at least there are 2!

Hilary -

That quote really stuck with me. Cheers to you!

Those graduates are like fledgling birds that need to fly.

We had wine and peanut butter cookies. So good.

Talon -

I kind of savor a rainstorm like that - it was really coming down right then.

Sandie -

There sure are.

Beautiful view, blessed rain. And a day spent reading is always a good one.

You certainly have a nice spot to stay out of the rain, n lucky you don't have to go out in it. At least you aren't getting a drought this spring! A;ways nice to be a favorite- I'm betting you're on many folks Fave list!
Wow- What a strange quote to scare grads with! I suppose it is more of a sink or swim than ever before to face the job market-

Thank you - it is peaceful. My place is small, but I love it.

Shionge -

There was plenty of that this weekend. :)

Riot Kitty -

Mellow is the word!

Elephant's Child -

Absolutely!

Snaggle -

I was out in earlier at church and the grocery store and then later at book club. But I loved that time in the middle. :)

Sweeeet that beautiful quote at the end.

And your living room view is beautiful, what a lovely respite, rain or shine.

And please know that whatever group you are part of, I know you're always one of the favorites!!!!

You always sound so content even when it rains! Actually I could tell from the photo it was raining or overcast anyway.

I can't imagine anyone ever saying "All my favourite people are here" if I was in the room! Ha!

Joanne -

I'm getting used to it. I don't mind except when I have to get in it. :)

Jannie -

You are sweet to say - I only share that because it was unexpected and good to know.

xoxo

Joe -

Oh I imagine you would be a favorite in our group here!

And I am content (for the most part.) :)
