Sanctioned graffiti, fun at work and walking the garden

- This man has been working on what I am thinking of as "sanctioned graffiti" under this bridge that runs through the Atlanta Beltline park I walk in after work.  Click to enlarge. He's there every afternoon.  It looks to be stylized water and a fish on the mural that he is painting.  Of course, I'll post the finished product when he is done.  I'm certain it's part of the "Art on the Beltline" project that you can read about here.

- A favorite client often says "you're the best!" to me at the end of a phone call.  "You're the best!" I always reply.  Yesterday we say it to each other at the same time and laugh.

- Reflecting that it is almost June and I haven't put anything in pots and planters at home yet.  So I skip my afternoon walk and do that instead.  Lots of potting and repotting - a three hour process, that included a run to the plant nursery.  Before I go to bed, I walk my "garden" with a cup of tea and savor my work.

Art, laughter and beautiful growing things.  Life is good.  I hope good things come your way this weekend, my friends.  Have a great one!

We have some murals around town and the neat thing is, no one has mucked them up! :)

Hope your weekend is stuffed with beauty, Lynn!

What a joy---Walking the Garden with a Cup of Tea...!
I used to go down into my Garden, just before twilight, and sit in a specially built Wooden seat under a tree with my cup of De-Caf....It was Sublime!!!
I look forward to seeing the finished Mural!

I don't like that lovely graffiti hidden away. I need a nice cup of tea while I ponder your blog. You find such good things in life. You're the best:)

Difficult delivering quality on such a height.

We have quite a lot of sanctioned graffiti (love that term) and it looks great and seems to discourage tagging. Two benefits there.
And yes, working in the garden and then savouring a cup of tea in it is such a treat. Have a great weekend.

Now that is a spot for graffiti...it brightens up a normally dull, uninteresting area!

Wow- beautiful artwork!

I haven't potted any plants either! I keep asking myself, should I bother, is it too late? But maybe I'll do one or two this afternoon, now that you've inspired me.

That's funny, I had a dream last night that I potted and repotted tons of plants because they all started growing quickly at the same time. I agree with GA, the mural should be in a prominent place :)

I've been madly potting plants and digging beds over etc. It's quite enjoyable. I haven't finished yet, but it's nice to be outside. I think I'll walk around and look at my handy work with a bottle of beer tomorrow.

Love the artwork and can't wait to see the finished work.

FB -

I'll say!

Talon -

I hope they leave this one alone.

Naomi -

I'll be posting it soon. Your garden is so lovely - I imagine that was delightful!

Granny Annie -

You're the best, too! Thank you for saying. :)

I guess they are making beauty in a place that needed - it will be visible to all that walk that way.

Filip -

But yet - he's doing it. :)

Elephant's Child -

I so hope it discourages tagging - there was already some of that there.

Lee -

I think so, too.

Leonora -

We got some lovely rain this evening, so they are getting the best kind of watering.

Riot Kitty -

Maybe that's a sign to start planting. :)

The mural is brightening up an area that needs brightening, I think.

Joe -

I look forward to seeing your pics of that.

Must be fun to have such a huge, public artwork project! Strange location for it tho- I can't do my garden in one day- So much left to get to due to rain n limited time. My week-end tired me out- hope yours was better.
