Lavender morning, sister calls and gazing at the river

- A misty early morning after a rainy night; the rising sun behind the clouds casting a lavender glow over everything.  View from my front door.

- My sister calls - she has had a bad week and is ready for some R&R.  We have very different views of R&R and hers revolves around getting away from the Florida heat to paint the kitchen at her mountain cottage.  She gives a rather forlorn "wouldn't you like to come?" over the phone.  Sure - I can do that.

- So off I go after work today, with Lemon Orzo Salad and chopped Greek salad (both made last night), in the cooler.  We'll make short work of that kitchen so there will be more time for this.  (See above.)  :)

I hope you have some R&R this weekend - whatever R&R means to you.  I'll catch up with blogs on Monday.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

Hope it all will be filled with drifting with your thoughts and talk and love for each other.

Does R&R stand for Rock and Roll?

You'll have have a ball. Use a roller brush and you'll have it painted in no time at all!

Granny Annie -

It definitely will. I'm so glad estate stuff is finally over and we can just be about the business of being sisters again. She has been very "homesick" lately, so I'm glad she has reached out to me.

I haven't seen her since February and no other family either. We have a tentative plan for all three sisters and nieces, nephew, great niece and great nephew to get together in Washington, DC this summer. I hope we can pull that off. Many busy people to coordinate.

Joe -

It does stand for Rock and Roll. Maybe we'll play some of that during the kitchen painting party. :) But I call it Rest and Relaxation. :)

I hope that your sister is feeling better and the two of you enjoy your rest and relaxation time. We will try our best. It has been pouring so we are resting indoors.
You guys have fun!

R and R in that beautiful spot, with someone you love would be blissful. Have a marvellous time - and both come home rejuvenated.
(I love the view from your front door too.)

R&R can mean many things . . . but none of them involve painting!

Love those pretty color surprises in different light- I have a new lavender plant this year, almost drowned out there- getting yellow! Bet you're glad the rain is done from that storm-
Sounds like a good r&r plan- I'm working myself to a frazzle this week-end. Bet your sis knew you'd bring the best food! Good luck on the cabin Kitchen make-over!

It's so nice that you can answer your sister's call like that and be right there- bearing food! : )

Coincidence- my daughter asked me top make the Lemon Orzo Salad when they come to visit next weekend.

The Elephant's Child -

Thank you - I look out at a very unlovely condominium building, ca. 1983, when they were all built with that siding, so I do what I can to make it otherwise beautiful. :)
