Porch lights, true love and lulled by the river

Sister's mountain cottage in the background

- The porch lights on at this cottage to greet me after a long, rainy trip north.  And a welcoming hug when I get inside.

- Smiling at how much in love my sister is with her first grandchild, who learned to crawl in earnest over the weekend, instead of the "army crawl" he has been doing.

- A discussion of family history, which we are piecing together, ends with two women, lulled by the sound of the river flowing by, having sitting up naps.

I had a wonderful time with my sis (and we managed to get that kitchen painting in.)  Hope you all had a great weekend!

The sound of a river is always relaxing (except at flood stage). Glad you had a restful retreat

Loved the title of this post, Lynn. It was like a poem. So glad you had a fabulous time. Nothing like siblings for sitting and chatting with...no one knows us better, I don't think.

Sage -

It doesn't really ever flood there. It gets a little high, but fortunately not high enough to do any damage.

Joe -

I know - I loved it. :)

Granny Annie -

Family is just everything to me. Glad you could see your son, too.

Sandie -

I have never used a reader - I pretty much just stick to the blogs that are listed to the right on mine.

Talon -

Thank you. We used to be very focused about leaving the porch light on for whoever was still out when I was living at home (so many years ago.) It just says "welcome" to me.

Riot Kitty -

I'm so glad.

Elephant's Child -

It was. So far, so good.

Naomi -

Thank you - that photo is a favorite now. :)
