Second day of summer, still happy and chivalry

- A perfect Saturday morning on the back porch after walk and breakfast.  The trees in the back are fully leafed out now - covering the back yards beyond.  I love the wilderness aspect and the quiet back there, so quiet that a bird visited the feeder while I was sitting with my feet in that other chair.

- As I pull into the church parking lot on Sunday, a couple, who are like surrogate parents to me, walking into the church holding hands.

- And another couple pulls up before I get out of the car.  He jumps out and goes to the passenger side, opens the door and extends a hand.  She takes his hand and gets out of the car.  I don't see that often and think it's a beautiful thing and tell them so.

That third one made me tear up a bit.

LOVE your back deck haven, and I like the blog that's showing on your laptop -- one of my faves!

No, chivalry is not dead...my thoughts exactly. I love the view of your peaceful porch. It makes we want to have a bookcase full of all the Best Seller's and a year off to myself.

What a lovely spot to start your day. And how warming it is to see people act as you describe. It would be wonderful to see more like that.

Just reading about them has warmed my heart...so thank you. :)

That is all very sweet stuff! Nice to focus on when things are not so great. I like to store memories like that.

Jannie -

When I complimented him, he gave sort of an inward smile and she looked as if she was thinking, "Doesn't everyone have this?" Sadly - no.

Thank you - I amused myself by pulling up my blog for my photo. :)

Hilary -

I wish you could join me for some tea. Hope you are having a happy week, too. Cheers to you.

Ily -

Funny you say that - when my friends with families visit, they all say that, too. One of them said, "Could I just stay here for a week and read books and listen to music?" "You could," I said.

Elephant's Child -

Thank you - so interesting those two things happened in the same minute in the church parking lot.

Lee -

I love that it warmed your heart!

Riot Kitty -

Things like that are all around us all the time. I just like to keep my eye out.

What a lovely Peaceful spot! At-One, with nature!
I love that Chivalry is not dead! My dearest Soul Mate, ALWAYS opened the door for me--all through hi lifetime. It's the way he was brought up, you know? It seemed utterly natural to him...! It's good to know that this type of kindness STILL exists!

Nice spot you got there. Mine's alot less private now with summer neighbors here. Love when the birds aren't frightened of you, because you/re feeding them-
Good to know there are still couples showing polite love in public.
