- On Saturday, loved this greenery display on the porch swing at the "Mad House" on the tour of homes in Madison, Georgia.
- And Sunday night, my church's annual Lessons and Carols service. The women of our church made these Chrismon decorations in the '60s and '70s. They (we) still make one every year to give out to the children on Christmas eve. There was a cookie reception after (bonus!)
This is my 1300th post. How about that?

I love the decorated porch swing- how clever!
And the Chrismon tree is beautiful.
Looks like Christmas is here!
They made sure no one would sit on that swing with those decorations. I remember Christmas at our churches when I was growing up. Santa would come and bring the children net bags of fruit, nuts and candy. Did you ever have that? I greatly feared the jolly fat man.
I love the arrangement on the porch swing. That's so pretty! You're so right - simple can be soooo beautiful.
Now, I know what I want to do with the wrought iron bench on my front porch: greenery!

I sent you a message - you and Joanne commented before I finished the post. My fault - I thought I had saved it as a draft, but somehow published it. :) Thank you - that was in Madison, GA. And the Chrismon tree is at my church.

Coming up!

No - we didn't have Santa come to the church. I do remember when I was in kindergarten, a woman dressed as Santa came. We all knew she was a woman, but she kept protesting "I'm a boy!" Funny.

I love things like that.

Glad I could help!
Gorgeous. And I am a big fan of simple myself (simple things for simple minds?).
The photographs are wonderful. Full of holiday cheer.
Congrats on cranking out 1300 sparkling to the last drop blog posts.
Great looking tree too.
1,300! Woot!
I love the idea of a warm pool right now. Love the retro tree, too. What a sweet tradition.
I just found out the organization where I am on the board has a group that has put on the annual Christmas dinner for members for 25 years. One year, this lady and her friends thought to do it, and they have been doing it ever since.
I love the flowers on the bench. And is that a Chrismon tree - Methodist?
I like the greenery picture!
Happy 1300th! Here's to 1300 more!

Mother's always hold so many pearls of wisdom to reference, most unrealized until we are on our own.
