Lucky bamboo, candy jars and sweet basil

- This "lucky bamboo" plant was an impulse buy at Whole Foods the other night - this one has three stalks, which is said to promote happiness.  I figure we could all use luck and happiness at work, so I took it there to live.  And it adds a spot of beauty in a spot that needed brightening up.  :)

- I also keep candy at my desk for anyone who wants to come by and have some. Coworker and friend Bren gave me the canister on the left, filled with red "cinnamon disc" candy for my birthday a few years ago.  I added the Starburst candy in a canister for visiting children.

- Back home - I knew this sweet little vase would come in handy!  I planted a little too much basil, so I clipped some last evening for caprese salad and put the rest in the little vase.  I'll use it in the next couple of days.  Meanwhile - suggestions for basil use (other than caprese and pesto) will be appreciated.

I'm so happy it's Friday - I love the weekend.  I hope you find good things, too, my friends.

If I worked in your office, I'd be visiting you for candy all the time! Ha.

Nice plant, I hope it brings extra happiness into your life. :)

Love your lucky bamboo. And need to avoid candy jars.
Basil goes beautifully with tomatoes. Even tomato sandwiches are improved with a leaf or two. And salads really, really benefit.

Plants always improve the atmosphere. Go for the cheap candy if you want it stick (and it will) around, like Jolly Rogers or Christmas Ribbon candy.

Your office cubicle is very friendly : )

My favorite use for basil is in Panzanella (tomato and bread salad)

I am going to find me a plant like that! Would put candy out on my desk at work also but made the mistake of not having a lid on the dish. This way people could stroll by and grab a handful. Often others would bring a bag of candy to replace what they ate but it it seemed like the ones who gobbled most rarely contributed.

Love your little spot at work with the plant and your home basil is adorable, too. I can put basil on anything! I love chopping it up and putting it on my pasta, pizza, cheese bread...anything, really.

Yum, basil! You pretty much have to grow it fresh- it wilts so quickly when it comes from the store.

my bank always gets those bamboo. I bet it will help lift a few moods there at work. Bet the kids like to visit your desk with all the goodies. Fun looking hand santitizer holder too. I like basil on the sauce of my home-made pizza. Sometimes I use bagels from work cut in half for crust. Sauce, basil, cheeze, 375 for 8 minutes or less. I'm working hard to find a way to fit my basil n other plants where I move. Happy week-end

I had a lucky bamboo on my desk at work once. I ended up getting promoted but that was a couple of years later. I'm not sure there' s a connection!

What a sweet vase.

Basil is great if you make homemade pasta sauce (tomato basil), some kinds of stir fry, and to dry out as a spice. How's that?

I love your hand sanitizer holder.

Cool idea with the bamboo. We have a few plants in our office and definitely brightens up the place.
