Favorite tree, hands and looking out

It was a gloomy-ish weather day when I went to the tour of homes in Madison, Georgia several days ago.  Friend Barb couldn't go with me, as usual, so off I went.  I took a few photos - mostly quirky ones.  I think that little structure might have been a cover for a well at one time.  And I adore Ginkgo trees, with their fan-shaped leaves - especially when the leaves turn yellow in the fall.

Love the hand prints in the brick walkway of someone's home.  I wonder where those hands might be now and what they are doing.

This home was wonderful - full of furniture and things from all the countries they have lived in.  But the back yard held these four chairs just looking out at nature.  I imagined the family just sitting and chatting in the evening.

This flame colored tree caught my fancy, but the Ginkgo is still my favorite.

I hope the world is being kind to you today, my friend.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Enough to lift the lowest of spirits! The mood I've been in over the past few days I should lift a few spirits, I think...of the liquid kind, not the haunting kind! :)

Hi Lynn - just lovely to see ... peaceful and as EC says - quirky wander - a slow poddle around so good for us all - not to rush around. Happy weekend ... cheers Hilary

Too bad that your friend was unable to make the house tour with you, but great that you went regardless and apparently had a good time. The 4 chairs in the back yard would be a good place too unwind.

Love those hand-prints. My daughter's new home has dog tracks in their sidewalk and she just loved them. The builder said he would not have sold the house to anyone who didn't like the tracks. Yes I can just imagine the people sitting outside in those great chair and chatting.

Oh I love Madison! My Dad lives near there and I love it! There are two museums there you need to visit, the African American one and the other one on Main st, I think it is called Morgan County Cultural Museum.
Love your Christmas tree I saw on earlier post!

I love that last tree. Red is one of my favourite colours, it's so radiant and stands out. That's why artist John Constable always included some red in his paintings.

Lynn; trying to combat the (holiday) rude driving traffic, the hoards of crowds (when shopping) and the ins and outs of family issues (at Christmas) can be tough. Not to mention coping with the added pressure of your 'To do' list....
