Gazing at the sky, stump chair and a grand thing

As usual, I was racing to my car, so I could get in the line up on the expressway for the journey to work. But this sky was so glorious, I had to stop and gaze and moment and capture it with my phone. And then it was off to the races.

Someone cut this tree stump into the shape of a chair. How about that? It was another glorious sky last Saturday morning and I noticed the stump chair when my friends and I were saying goodbye after a walk in the park.

My favorite cookies from Ryal's Bakery in my hometown of Milledgeville, Georgia. A hometown friend, Chuck, posted this pic on Facebook and it made me smile. :)  He also posted a quote from author Agatha Christie this morning that resonated with me:

"I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow; but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing."

Beautiful photograph. Love the stump chair and wish I had done that with the tree stump here. Maybe I still can. Cookies make me hungry. I'm off to the kitchen.

There was more to Agatha Christie than met the eye.

We had a tree stump at my mother's house that was fairly chair like. Then too much brush grew near it to make it useful

Oh what a sky. I would happily sit in (on?) that stump chair.
And wish that everyone could look at life as Agatha did. Sadly for many it is a huge ask.

Thankfully, today as been here...a welcome break from the heat we've been experiencing. We had a storm last night; and more rain during the day with a few bursts of thunder.

The heat has been so draining.

It's always a good thing to stop and look around because beauty is definitely all around as you have shown, Lynn. The stump chair is creative but doesn't look too comfy. The cookies however look delicious.
