Rosy glow, glowing enthusiasm and something nice

Rising by Bob Trammell

- With the return to Eastern Standard Time, my commute begins in the dark and ends with the sun just risen. The sky yesterday morning has a rosy glow that might signify rain is coming. And it has.

- The glowing enthusiasm of friend Charlene as she puts together a group of people who will learn ballroom dancing on Friday nights, and a big chuckle at the last line of the latest email, "Please contact us if you have any doubts about dancing."

- An emergency room visit with my dad (he will be OK) and smiling at how he always finds something nice to say to health care workers who are in and out of his room. He gives a startled look to a nurse with fuschia streaked hair, but says, "Petra - what a pretty name."

That time change is pretty tough. I think it stinks that my evening commute is now actually in the evening. :(

Glad to hear that your dad is okay. And its great that he can brighten up someone's particular moment with a kind word.

For some reason I never mind the early morning commute being in the dark. I like the city lights. But the sunrises sure have been lovely. Yesterday morning the rosy orange glow was reflected in the glass buildings - a startling sight. Rain this morning though. Big rain because of Ida.

Thank you - dad has a way of doing that always.

Your Dad sounds great. :) Mine is too. He always seems to find just the right thing to say at just the right moment.

I''m so glad you're father is okay. He has a remarkable spirit.

That painting is beautiful - reminds me of seeing a garden through a rainy window.

I can see you gliding around the floor doing a fabulous Waltz :)

Joe -

We have wonderful dads in common. He does have a way of saying the right thing.

And he has a remarkable spirit and he never complains about anything.

The painting is by a former co-worker Bob - a wonderful man. And he married my neighbor Helen.

Me waltzing? Hmmm - I'll have to think about that. I am kind of clutzy. :)

Your dad sounds loveable. What an attitude. I hope he stays healthy.

I love sunrises, much more than sunsets. Just this morning in fact...

Thank you Jewel. And I love sunrises, too. They are mostly at my back as I drive I-85 south to work.

Beautiful picture. You have to change time zones??

Riot Kitty -

Isn't that beautiful - Bob is quite the artist.

We just changed from Eastern Standard Time to Eastern Daylight Time - so we just went back one hour. It makes it dark before 6pm, but light just at 7am.

This post was full of poignancy and smiles. Your dad sounds so wonderful. I love that he found something nice to say even when startled -- and I'm seeing some of you in that trait, Lynn :)

Beautiful artwork to go with the description of the rosy sunrise -- and who doesn't sometimes have doubts about dancing? ;) We just go on and do it anyway!

We have a friendly check out gal at the grocery who has been there 12 years, her name is Petra. I imagine it means "Rock" but I'd have to Google that.

I love driving home in the dark, knowing those pesky UVAs are not ageing me. :)

3 great clips of people with honest joy in their hearts. Gentleness in their manner

Meredith -

He puts everyone else before himself. When I arrived from Atlanta yesterday he worried I had driven too fast to get there to be for him. Thank you - a wonderful compliment. :)

Dancing - good point.

Jannie Muffin -

And did you google it? Driving in the dark is pretty OK.

That is true about the body jewelry - I hadn't thought of that. :)
