The dress, feathered friends and repair

- A silky dress that is displayed in the museum of the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center and depicted in the portrait just next to it. This tiny woman was a resident of Madison, Georgia and her family donated both items to the center.

- Evidence of visits from feathered friends due to the rapid decrease in seed in the feeder, making me wonder: Where did you fly south from? And shouldn't you have gone to Miami? I'm just saying...

- Always enjoying my visit to the happily cluttered E&B Jewelry Repair (a one-man business) in my neighborhood, and wondering how he makes any profit. I left a silver chain needing repair with him on November 9, and when I walked in this week, he looked up from his delicate work to ask me if I thought the chain might still be there. I hope so, I said. :) He retrieved it for me, fixed my watch band (again) and only charged $6.

I can't even imagine fitting into that tiny dress!

Maybe the birds heard about the frozen oranges :)

The dress looks magnificent in the portrait reminding me that clothes look better off the rack :)

Mama Zen -

Me either. Looks like a Size 0! It was even tinier looking in person.

That must be it. Oh poor us - expensive oranges on the way.

The dress must have been packed away carefully because it looks brand new.

That's neat to see the actual dress and painting together.

I'd prefer to see one of Elvis's outfits I have to say. :D

How did you live without your silver chain for so long? I couldn't cope for more than a few days. :D

Riot Kitty -

I thought so, too.

Joe -

How funny - no Elvis sightings in Madison as far as I know. :)

It forced me to wear other necklaces.

It's wonderful to see the actual dress next to the portrait. What a find for the museum!

The birds are probably also wondering why they didn't just head straight to Miami this winter -- or better yet, all the way to the Yucatan Peninsula, poor things. It's even been freezing the landscaping down in FL. :(

Such a pretty dress, indeed.

And a wonderful jeweler.

And hungry birds.

Meredith -

My sister in Florida has a backyard pool and the water froze the other day - first time that ever happened.

Blue Bunny -

I know, right?

It is so good to hear from you. I think this an interesting and wise saying.

I think the birds have gone to South America to warm up this year! They eat more to stay warm.
You ae fortunate to have such a good repair guy- None here like that now!
