What???, her turn and no tomfoolery

- So this made me laugh! and turn in Mr C's parking lot yesterday morning. I had not heard of this misfortune, but looked it up. He is out on bond posted by a 'Diff'rent Strokes' fan.

- My family's newest grandmother having to get off the phone because "it's my turn to hold the baby!"

- My funny friend Steven wants me to go with him to a restaurant he knows I'll love, called "The Iberian Pig" - a tapas place. He describes it best, "Cell phones are not allowed, men have to remove their hats, you're not allowed to talk about religion or politics, no tomfoolery or jackassery is permitted (that's my favorite!)"

Must be quite a fun enterprise to have a name like the The Iberian Pig. I like the rules though, for once conversations will not be interrupted for having to take a call.

Anil -

I just knew it would have Spanish influenced food when I read the name. And indeed it does. Yes - I like those rules, too, especially the no cell phone rule.

I'd never go to a place that made me remove my cap!

As I was typing the words this morning, I thought, "Joe will say he wouldn't go to a place that made him remove his cap." :)

I thought that Mr. C was giving away Gary Coleman with the meatloaf!

That restaurant sounds awesome! The no religion or politics thing already limits the jackassery a bit; doesn't it?

And I love tapas... the best tapas I ever had was in a midtown Atl restaurant, Sweet Devil Moon. They have live jazz players some nights, and fantastic Smoke-on-the-Waters (drinks that "smoke" seductively when delivered to your table in a dual-tiered glass containing dry ice.) I hope you get to go with your friend. :)

What's this about Gary Coleman? I'll have to look it up, too. I'm afraid I'm behind the times. ;)

lol!!!! Another way to see it. :)

I don't watch entertainment news much, so I am behind the times, too. :)

We are going one day next week. And I haven't been to Sweet Devil Moon, but I just looked them up and they have closed. I would have enjoyed that smoking drink!

lol - Mr. C must have a fondness for "Different Strokes". I'm starting to think they need a new jail cell just for former child stars.

I wonder what happens when someone breaks the rules? Does the wait staff glide about listening in on conversations? ;) It's sort of sad that they have to remind people to turn their cell phones off.

I don't blame new Grandma - those newborn beauties are irresistable!

I think you must go to the Iberian Pig!

They closed?! Aw, I feel sad now...

I wonder if that restaurant language is tongue in cheek. Steven loves it because of the personal touch. He was having some calamari last week and the owner came by to speak to them. He got an email from him later in the week to thank him for coming in and hoping he enjoyed the calamari. (Steven's email was on file for their mailing list.)

Riot Kitty -

Going on Tuesday - I'll report back. :)

Meredith -

It's the times I guess. Don't be sad.

I Wonder if Gary Coleman likes meatloaf?
I'd get off the phone too- opportunities like first grand-child holding are indeed very limited! (for me at least).
There are times I loath watching folks talk on cell phones, especially in stores when I first think they are talking to me- It can be percieved as rude, as is speaking religion n politics at dinner. Restaurant must have old-fashioned owners. My Mother had those rules too!

Good rules to follow, I think. Sophie's veterinarian has a sign posted that says, "For your own safety, please keep your cellphone turned off in the examining room." When I questioned him about the safety issue, he replied, "It's for your own safety from me!" Apparently people take calls and sit and chat in there when he is trying to talk to them about their pet.

Hey, when you're ready for a repeat of Iberian Pig, let me know. It's top of my to-do Decatur list.

Have fun!
