All eight, a few more hours and surprise

- Enjoying the hippie vibe at R. Thomas Grill near my office for an early dinner with friend Leisa. We both get the same thing - the Thai Express Bowl that contains Quinoa – the supergrain of the future – containing all eight essential amino acids, higher in unsaturated fats and lower in carbs than most grains. Topped with a sauté of broccoli, red cabbage, carrots, scallion, red onion and cilantro in a spicy peanut sauce. I left knowing that I now contained all eight essential amino acids. Yum.

- Waking during the night to hear a heavy, but peaceful rain. And knowing that I can sleep a few more hours. Lovely.

- Receiving a great card in the mail containing a special treat - a Starbucks card. A nice surprise from a thoughtful friend. She told me a treat was coming in the mail - guaranteed not to melt. That just might be in use this morning - latte here I come.

May treats and surprises come your way this weekend. I hope it is a happy one!

Treats and surprises just in time for the weekend...I wish you many more!!

R. Thomas Grill sounds like my kinda place. I love a good, spicy peanut sauce and cilantro is THE BEST! Glad you enjoyed your meal.

I just love being in bed and hearing the sound of heavy rain...as long as I know I don't have to get up and drive in it!

Happy Weekend, Chica!!

My horoscope doesn't mention treats or surprises, only traumatic incidents that someone will arrive to help me with.

That looks like an interesting restaurant, Lynn, and a healthy one. I haven't tried Quinoa yet, but keep hearing about it.

Rain in the night is the best...next to nice surprises in the mail. :)

We've had rain here too (for almost 3 days!) Sun is out today-though. Have a super weekend Miss Lynn!

Mmmm... R. Thomas. Their Wild Ahi Tuna Salad is great. But even better than the food are the birds and plants and wild, colorful profusion of life on the walk to the entrance. :)

How wonderful, to wake to the sound of a deep, drenching rain, and have the certainty that one can fall back asleep and enjoy its melody.

I had to laugh at the "guaranteed not to melt" part. Very well thought-out gift!

Look at all that far out, groovy paraphenalia! Never heard of Quinoa before, or eaten Thai. Sounds good.
Peaceful rain is way better than the loud boomers we had overnight this week- prob woke all the day folks up!
Enjoy your Starbucks treats n week-end!

Mmmm... I miss Starbucks (Norway is still Starbucks-free and I'm a little bitter). What a fantastic surprise! That meal sounds absolutely wonderful. I never find food that I feel is healthy enough when I go out to eat, except for salads - and I generally don't like salads that much. You make me smile :)

Sage -

I think so, too. :)

Lance -

R. Thomas is right in the middle of a bunch of office buildings, which makes it even more great, I think.

Shay -

I am lucky. And I do love hearing the rain and knowing I can sleep more.

Ily -

Lots of rain up and down the east coast the last few days. We must need it.
