Cousins, more pets and the way it should be

- There was a lot of this stare down stuff this weekend at my sister's place, with three dogs and a cat about. These two are the littlest though and seem the most scrappy. :)

- A visit to the vet clinic yesterday, to show them the proof for the calendar we are printing for them, elicited so many pet offerings that I could have left with my car looking like Noah's Ark. The vet (my friend Ronnie) has taken in yet another stray dog that he found wandering loose near his home, so he does his part. He has three rescue dogs at home now - one of them a hemophiliac dalmatian with three legs.

- Another visit - this time to the warehouse club for vitamins - had the nicest employee, who asked if I had everything I needed as if he meant it and called me Ms. M___, after a glance at my card. A nice and unexpected touch.

A cat and three dogs
Eye to eye they don’t see
Tho their not friendly
No meanness to be

A three legged dog
An ark no one see
A heart as big as gold
Now that’s a vet for me

Manners not normal
But from him they did flow
Calling you Ms. M
Now your head did glow

Have a wonderful Wednesday, Lynn M.! :-)

Keep me away from that vet's office! I'm running out of my space in my ark.

I love those unexpected little moments when someone interacts with one in a genuine way during a chance encounter. Glad you could experience that, Ms. M!

Those two young 'uns look more than ready to meet without a door between them. ;)

Love the stare down pic! It's awesome!

It's funny, but it's the social niceties that really stand out these days...a real reversal to a time when rudeness was more of a rarity.

Cute 'stare down' photo Lynn. So sad about the Dalmation but at least he has a loving home :(

Ellis -

You were first today! And I love my wrap-up poem. My head *did* glow. :)

Thank you, Ms. S!

Mama Zen -

I'm sure you can relate to this since you just lost your dog - they have been my vet for 20 years and right now I have no pets since I had to have my Sophie put down in August. So they keep "finding" pets for me.

Meredith -

I had an experience at Sam's Club recently in which the checker asked as if it was routine, "did you find everything OK?" I replied that I didn't - I couldn't find the olive oil. He just said he was sorry and that he just ends up apologizing to folks all day. I told him I didn't need an apology - I was just responding to his question. :) So the guy yesterday made it so much better with his positive attitude and calling me by my name.

Little dog Lucky is an old guy with little patience for kitten Pete. :) Both hold their own with the big dogs though.

Talon -

Aren't they cute? :)

Max the dalmatian is my special buddy - he gets less attention sometimes when his brother dogs are around, but he knows he can come lie on my feet and get lots of petting.

Oh yeah what is this with Americans? Every store we go into they ask us if we have everything we need and I always feel like saying "If I didn't I wouldn't be standing here paying for just this one item!"

I appreciate good customer service, so I totally understand how you feel about the vitamin guy.

Btw, that photo is adorable. Makes me want to have two of each. :)

What a great picture!

I love that pic! The smaller you are, the harder you need to fight, alright!
It's sad all the folks who can't afford their pets these days. Alot of shelter animals here also.
It's so tough lately to get good service, n almost every clerk here rushes you thru- needing speed to not lose their job!

They are taught to do that, but very often, not how to respond if you say you don't have everything you need. I like it when someone actually seems to take an interest in their job and customer like this guy did.

Lulu -

Isn't that the cutest? I kept trying to lure Pete the cat into my lap, but he is just too busy. :)

Riot Kitty -

Thank you. :)

I would so love to have another pet, but it doesn't seem like a good idea now since I'm away from home much.
