Room with a view, the long way and imagine

- The view from my niece's dining room window. The first night I was there, my sister pointed out the reflection of the lights at the top of the Chrysler building in the glass on the table. The drive into Manhattan from the airport was a magic moment, too. The view of the lights of Manhattan from the Triboro bridge was gorgeous.

- Rockefeller Center and its giant Christmas tree, stumbled upon while we took the long way to Macys.

- A Saturday morning excursion to see the part of Central Park known as Strawberry Fields. My New York family goes to the park all the time, but had never been to this section of it. This was my first trip there and I really loved it. More tomorrow. :)

Lights do shine for a building not a car
The Manhattan lights from the bridge
Glittered like a million stars

The tree by the rink reached to the sky
As we took our time traveling
to Macys to buy

In Central Park Strawberry Fields
Is the place to be but she will tell us tomorrow
Of all the art, she got to see

Thank you - I had a wonderful time, but it is good to be back, too.

Sage -

The lights were fantastic.

Joe -

I did not see Kylie. That would have been great. My sister was in a restaurant with Emma Thompson today.

Jewel -

I'll say!

I know art is usually my thing, but I didn't really get to see any. Next time. Thank you for my poem!

Mama Zen -

They think they live in a boring part of Manhattan - I thought it was great.

Jannie -

You'd think I would have taken lots more photos, but a lot of them were of my baby niece. So cute. A truly magical trip, any way you look at it. xo

Talon -

I had a lovely trip, I did.

Meredith -

I'm back, but I did have an exquisite trip. It was just lovely and I needed it.

I think they have already had that tree lighting - the lights were on, but since it was daytime, they didn't show up well.

ooo You went to NYC? Lucky you! You saw The Tree! n the Imagine stone! That's special- it's the anniversary.
In Dec '01 I could see that Chrysler building all the way from a rest area near the GW bridge. Very distitinctive since the towers are missing.
Great pics!

I am lucky - I loved my visit and it was the first time I've ever been. It is weird that I have traveled so much, but never made it there until now.

Yes - my photo yesterday of the Imagine stone was a tribute of sorts. We passed the spot he was killed on the way to the park - I don't think that people should have photos taken there, but a lot of that was going on.
