- It being Groundhog Day tomorrow, it seems like a good time for Phil's (Bill Murray) Piano Solo from the 1993 film, "Groundhog Day." I love how he riffs into Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" at the sight of Andie McDowell's character Rita.
- Back when the film came out, my mother and sister decided to go to a movie one day and not knowing anything about it, chose that one. And they hated it. I walked into the room at the tail end of a conversation in which they were telling my dad and brother-in-law about the film. I announced, "I LOVED that movie!" Mom and sis looked at each other and burst out laughing and shook their heads. I stand by my original impression of the film and love how Phil took the opportunity to improve his life by learning to play piano, ice sculpt and speak French.
- It was raining last Groundhog Day. How do I know? I looked at last year's post for February 2. But after a couple of really rainy days in Atlanta, we are supposed to be cold today, but sunny. I wonder if that groundhog named Phil will see his shadow?
I'm out of town - mom's in the hospital again. (She will be OK.) So appropriately enough for Groundhog Day tomorrow - this was last year's post. And the third thing refers to 2010. Cheers and here's hoping for an early Spring!

I agree - if you're going to live the same day over and over, the least you can do is sneak in some new stuff :)
Hope all is well, Lynn.
I loved Ground Hog Day, the movie and I also love the day because it is my goddaughter's birthday. Tomorrow she will be 35.
Last year is pretty much of a blur for us because we spent it dealing with cancer but looking at last year's post, we were also looking out at 14 inches of snow with snow still falling. Hard to believe this year with warmer than usual weather.
Take good care of your Mama. We'll be glad to see you when you return.
I thought "Ground Hog Day" was a riot as well.
Sorry to hear that your mom is back in the hospital.
Give her my best for a speedy recovery.
Thinking of you and your mom, Dear Lynn.
Another one in agreement on loving that movie. Jim likes it too. Been so so long since we saw it. We're due. Bill Murray is just SO funny. In everything I've seen him in.

She's better and may go home tomorrow.
Granny Annie -
I'm so glad Ron is better and you can look ahead to good times. And happy birthday to your goddaughter!
Mom and I are watching Wheel of Fortune and looking forward to an early night. I finally was able to sign onto the hospital wireless and use my laptop to get on the Internet. I might be able to get together a Friday post.

Love that movie.
I just told mom that my friend George wishes her a speedy recovery and I thought she would ask who that is, but she just said to thank you. :)
Jannie -
Thank you - I'll tell her. Y'all should watch that movie tomorrow night!

Happy Ground Hog Day Lynn!
I liked the film too- Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Ted Knight always crack me up! I've met folks trying to get real ones out of their lawn too- Can indeed be like war!
I hope you get in some sunny rays there- n the Phil Hog desides on more mild weather...
Prayers for your Mom to recover n get home soon!
It's way past my bedtime again... I was remembering CaddyShack! Of course I do remember the alarm clock n Andy MacDowel was a newer one...
