- A little snow at 7:00 am and by the time the sun came up during my commute, it had all but disappeared. Still, it was pretty while it lasted.- A fat Carolina wren chirps away at me from the tree next to my car as I'm getting the snow off of it. The same bird is there every morning - it's my first greeting of the day.
- Listening to the audio book "In the Company of Others" by Jan Karon as I drive around the city. I have always followed the Mitford books and in this one, Fr. Timothy and Cynthia travel to Ireland for a vacation in County Sligo. It's a peaceful listen, especially when the reader uses an Irish accent. Just delightful.

Being greeted by a feather friend in the morning sounds wonderful... It's still too cold here, but about the end of March, I'll wake up and hear birds singing in the early morning hours.
I love the orange-gold sun glow and shadow in that shot, Lynn. The cardinals here are our morning heralders. Birds say the best "good morning!" :)

Lynn~ Jan Karon was born down the mountain(s) from where I live in the High Country. I believe she now resides in the next closest town up a few mountains from us. Thus, she is a 'legend' here.

I think this one is from the bird family that likes to nest on my back porch. And I like to think that it realizes I am a friend, because it is in the same spot every morning singing.

And I imagine she is - she lives in Blowing Rock, right? I started reading the Mitford series from the beginning and love the books. One of my cousins got me started by talking about them - she said, "You might find them boring." After that, I had to try them - they are perfect books about every day life, I think, with a bit of theology thrown in.

2.) The birds I see every morning are hawks, posed to try and steal my chickens.
3.) I read THE HELP and then I ordered it on audio book. The actors that read do a wonderful job portraying each character's voice. They sound just like I imagined they would.
The best kind of snow is the one that disappears just soon enough for you to miss it a little :) I can't wait to wake up to birds singing. Just a little while longer now! Have a wonderful Sunday, Lynn:)

I am all very tongue in cheek when I complain about the snow.
And I listened to The Help as well. They did an excellent job recording that and the southern accents sound genuine.

When we are AZ I often notice that the same bird appears to wake us up every morning.....it's at times like this I wish I had a gun.

Oh yes, sometimes listening to someone speak with an accent is so intensely pleasing! I have a podcast that's a favourite of mine, in part because of the accents.
Snow at seven (or at any time) sounds wonderful. It's been too long since I've had a glimpse of the white stuff!
I love Irish accents. They always gave me the tapes with Irish narrators on The Discovery Channel at the transcription/translation company I worked for back in the 90s...and I got good at understanding the accent.
