Parish, Manhattan and list on a napkin

- A lovely evening spent at a stylish restaurant with good friends. The mirror was garnished with dried magnolia leaves. We had some of those Smoked Trout Deviled Eggs. Yum.

- And there was a drink I had never tried before - a Manhattan. A very stylish drink.

- It was a birthday dinner and as you can see, I loved it. :)

You’re driving me mad for
How will, this poem I engage
of a mirror, of magnolia leaves
and Smoked, Deviled Trout eggs

Your giving me fits
with my silly little rimes
about Manhattan drinks
Not sprinkling bottles of wine

Someone’s birthday dinner
but whose, you never told me
and you said you loved it from
the pictures, we got to see

Your post causes these questions to spring to mind: 1.) How long do you boil a trout egg before making into deviled eggs? 2.) What is in a Manhattan? 3.) Were you celebrating alone so you had to write yourself notes?

JK:) What a fantastic, elegant and deserved event for your celebration.

I think I've actually had a Manhattan. Glad you had a great weekend Lynn!

The clue was in the napkin - it was a birthday dinner for me. :) Sorry to drive you mad! Oh my!

Granny Annie -

lol at the boiling trout egg. :) A Manhattan consists of whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters. And I was with two good friends. One of them was making the list of things she was supposed to email me about and I wrote how much I loved the dinner at the bottom.

You know I am the queen of smiley faces. :)

I'm still kind of partial to a glass of red wine during cocktail hour, but this was fun for a change.

There was a market area downstairs and I bought a bacon and cheese croissant for the next morning. It was so good - I sliced it in half lengthwise, toasted it in the toaster oven, buttered it and put a poached egg in the middle. Oh yum.

Thanks, lg!
