- This peaceful fellow at the Veterans Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia last Saturday. He was comfortably in the shade at the caretaker's cottage area, gave me a look when I rolled down my car window to say hello, then went back to watching for his person.- A beautiful blue sky day in Atlanta on Thursday with the temperature reaching 70 degrees, giving me the inspiration to clean the junk mail out of my car after I got home from work and give it a quick inside dust.
- Having dinner with an old friend who tells the favorite part of her day: she must drive her car to a mall parking lot and take a shuttle bus to the university building in which she works. This gives her a half hour to read on the bus before and after work. This is her time to do what she loves most.
I hope you find time to do something good for yourselves this weekend, my friends. Hope it is a great one!

On work days, I like to read a book during my lunch and breaks. It's nice to step out of my workaday world and into someone else's for a few minutes. :-)

It's nice to have those times when there is nothing you can do, but relax and enjoy the ride.

I'm packing to go to AZ for a week, and the weather forecast is for thunderstorms and rain, so I'm a bit pissed off. I can stay in the UK for that kind of weather!

There's something very soothing about that doggie.
I know how precious uninterrupted reading time is. I used to take a train twice a day and I got lots of reading done on it. Now I take a bumpy, lurching bus, and it's impossible to read because of all the movement. I miss my reading time.
Great looking dog. Although I have never been much of a big city person, I've always enjoyed public transportation and the ability to read while riding

I agree. I like to have a book on CD in the car for my commuting time or any time that I'm out in the car during the day.

He put me in mind of Greyfriars Bobby - a terrier in Scotland who kept vigil over his dead master's grave for 14 years. The cemetery people fed him. I was fascinated with the story when I was in Edinburgh - there is a statue dedicated to Bobby.

I used to take the train downtown when I was going to school and found it impossible to read or study because of the distraction of other people. A truly interesting experience that I don't miss much.

I used to use that time to study other people - there were so many interesting situations. One young lady used to get on the train downtown with office clothing on. She would pull a hoodie out of her bag and pull that on over her work clothes, pin up her hair, put MP3 earphones in her ears, pull the hood over her hair and get off the train. Looking like an entirely different person. Clearly she was trying to hide that she was working from someone.
Love the doggy's chest plate. Is that part of a harness I wonder?
Wish you had not reminded me of cleaning out cars. Our van needs to be cleaned in the worst way.

A window seat in the bus makes the travel interesting.
The only thing I miss about riding the subway is having that time to read. I'm jealous of your weather, too - we had snow and hail this week!
