Live the dream, the bus and cure for insomnia

- Mr C's pokes fun at itself. A self-described "dive bar" - the Yelp reviews are pretty funny themselves. My favorite still: "It reminds me of the bar where The Blues Brothers played "Rawhide" behind a fence."

- Giving blood on one of those traveling blood mobiles just before church service. The funniest moment, when friend Steve hops on board and asks if this is the bus to Akron.

- Getting to eat Nutter Butter cookies after giving blood and sitting by a solumn young adult waiting to give, who tells me that she never sleeps. I get an involuntary laugh out of her when I tell her that my orthodontist friend offered to bring by some orthodontic journals as a cure for insomnia. :)

LOL @ orthodontic journals. Stuff comes through the mail that I can't imagine anyone actually reading. "Heavy Equipment News" or the like.

I'm going to use that line the next time I give blood.

lol - maybe Mr. C's sign needs to be changed to "Live the Nightmare!" Whoever the sign creator is, they have an awesome sense of humor.

Insomnia must be absolutely horrid. The few nights a year I truly can't sleep are torture enough!

Every place should a few "dive" bars. We have one that still allows smoking and has this amazing amount of different beers. I once tried this English beer, my daughter suggested, that tasted like chocolate. Oddly, it was very good:~)

Wow. They give Nutter Butter cookies. I want give blood where you give blood. I love Nutter Butters!

Joe -

I don't like to look at it for sure - I kept my eyes averted the whole time. :)

Yes - I'll bet you see it all. It was funny a couple of weeks ago when I was telling my friend that I wasn't sleeping well and she said she could bring me some orthodontic journals.

Granny Annie -

Good idea!

lg -

I'm glad it was there for you then, my friend.

Most of the time they just have something like "Go Braves" or extolling the virtues of Jagermeister. So it's fun with there is a fun sign.

Sara -

I noticed from those Yelp reviews that there is smoking in there. And warnings not to leave valuables in your car if you park in the back. :) How divey is that?

I know - that sparked a whole discussion about Ohio, too. :)

And there were all sorts of cookies to choose from - it was a rare treat for me to have cookies.

Mama Zen -

I'm glad you read that - they are so funny.

Riot Kitty -

I have yet to go in there, but maybe one day.

Cloudia -

So good of you to do it! I remember that bottle-crunching Rawhide! Did Steve sign on? The secret of sleep is 2000u of Vitamen D to help produce Melatonin, or getting the Melatonin.
Or work nights like me!
