Inside, jazz hands and three hugs

- The geraniums had to come in last night since there was a frost warning. I admire how they are still gamely blooming in October, with some buds yet to open.

- My client's baby has learned some sign language. My favorite: the "jazz hands" that mean "all done!" And she reportedly uses it to her advantage; today used for not wanting to go in her crib for a nap. :)

- Meeting three friends for my urban book group meeting and getting three hugs when I leave.

Have a lovely weekend, my friends. Stay warm!

I wish I could have brought my pecan trees inside during the drought. It looks like we lost all six.

The "jazz hands" at nap time is so great. Kids are truly born smart and then we get ahold of them.

Hugs from strangers -- Yikes! Hugs from friends -- priceless.

Wish the jazz hands worked for me! I can think of several situations I could use them in!
Lynn, have a truly great weekend and...keep warm!

Make that FOUR hugs, one from me too. Even tho I'm more suburban than urban, and didn't read the book.

Geraniums looking FABulous.

I never did sign with Kelly, but I guess it's incredible what babies can understand and convey.

Off now to "work" (yeah, right) :) on tune #12, called "Love Will Be The Answer."

I thought of you last night, when I had the Weather Channel on and they mentioned that it was going to get cold in Atlanta!

Granny Annie -

That's a rather somber looking photo, huh? The darkness outside reflects what it looks like when I leave and usually when I come home. :) Sorry about your pecan trees!

So true about kids. :)

I know, right?

Jannie -

Thank you, my friend. I didn't know how much I needed those hugs until I got them. And yours is extra special.

Can't wait to hear those tunes!

I heard someone last night laughing at our weather - we think 40 degrees is cold. But is was cold. I had to put the heat on this morning. Thanks for thinking of me!

In 35 minutes I'll be all done for the day, too - and waving my hands like that.

You have a lovely weekend, too, happygirl.

Filip -

Yes - it's getting to be that kind of weather for everyone.

what books are you reading for your book club? We're supposed to drop back into the low 30s tonight, after a couple weeks of rather mild weather.

Baby sign language is so cool! My friends' kids all learned to open and close their fist to indicate "milk". So adorable.

Betty -

Thank you, my friend - hugs back.

We are supposed to be slightly warmer the next few days.

We read "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer. We give it 4 thumbs up. My friends in this book group all went to Georgia State University with me and when I received the GSU Alumni Magazine in September it identified this book as the Freshmen First Read. Mr. Foer actually came and spoke at orientation.

Olá! e obrigado vindo perto. Volte por favor outra vez.

Sparkling Red -

Yes - baby Claire does the milk sign, too. I am so impressed by that.

Wow! It's colder where you are - that doesn't happen very often.

Riot Kitty -

Seriously? I hope you feel better - I saw on your blog that aren't feeling well.

How adorable that jazz hands can communicate so many things! :)

I miss my old book club and I really haven't been inspired to read much...but did get to the library with the kids this week and picked up a Lisa Jackson suspense novel which I'm liking.

Hope you have a fun and relaxing Sunday! :)

I'm depressed about the Pecan trees too!
Lucky you to still have flowers. The Impatiens, Canterbury bells (1 sprig), 1 brown-eyed Susan, n a couple Marigolds are what I have blooming out on the messy with leaves deck now. Of course it's rained all my free days recently.
It's cold here now- but near the water less likely to frost.
MBs babies did the sign thing too. I only remember the one for light now.
At least you got your hugs for the day!- Sometimes I go weeks without any except from Mischief.
My week-end's been busy at work again. Have a better one than I-

Thank you and the same to you. I will check out that author. I love crime fiction. :)

I am lucky in so many ways - and some might consider me unlucky in other ways. Either way - I love life.

I hope you get through your weekend and find some peace after work. (((HUG)))
