Lions, the moon and geese (oh my!)

- A row of these lovely stylized lions grace the front of the SunTrust Bank building and the adjacent Marriott Marquis Hotel in downtown Atlanta. This is my attempt at a "through the windshield" shot of one of them after visiting my university client yesterday.

- And a better view of another of them from Google images taken by a summer visitor. :) Lovely.

- Looking up at the Waxing Gibbous Moon just as a plane flies across it.

- A honking flock of geese forming a V and flying south. The three to four geese in the front jockey for position before they situate themselves and take on the next part of their journey.

May your weekend journey contain many delights!

The way the tree is in front of the word Trust on your photo, my brain filled it in to read SunTrout. SunTrout, where fishermen have been banking for years. :)

And a plane framed by the moon, and geese taking their places -- lovely.

Many delights to you too!

I love seeing the geese leave the area. (they poop as big as a medium sized dog)
I would have loved to see that moon. I need to start taking a stroll in the evening. Now there are fewer trees to block my view. :)

I've been watching the geese too, Lynn. Often, here, you can hear their honking but the mountain mist prevents you from seeing them full on. You can only imagine...by the sound that you hear...

I love the lions too. Very clever.

I haven't heard or seen any honking geese recently. Or maybe I haven't been looking carefully enough.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Neat lions!
I saw some geese grazing in the park just a few days ago, and wondered how much longer they'll be hanging around. We've been having some fairly warm and sunny days around here, so maybe a little while longer.

That is an awesome statue! I can never get anything through the window, though I have tried.

Leave it to bankers to try to improve on a good thing. Can any lions ever be as majestic as Patience and Fortitude in front of the New York Public Library? Okay, okay, I will admit these lions are pretty cool too.

The sky filled with migrating geese and the sound of trains in the distance cause my heart to race as happy memories flood my brain

Jannie -

That SunTrout thing made me laugh out loud. :)

I hope you are having a lovely weekend, so far.

A good way to look at it - your view has opened up a little. I hope things are getting better over there, my friend.

I love to hear the honking!

Joe -

I'd love to know the story behind those lions. I'll have to get out and walk around them sometime. It's just hard to park there - you have to go in a parking deck and pay.

Betty -

Thank you - and I hope you are having a beautiful weekend, too.

We are having such exquisite weather - I'm thinking I need to take my book outside somewhere and read.

Riot Kitty -

Through the windshield is because it has the slight film - my car needs a cleaning in the worst way.

Granny Annie -

I got to see those lions in New York when I was there in May. So cool.

When I see a plane in the sky like that, I like to think of where it is going and who is on the plane. Neat.

Nice sculptures on public display there- not bad for the windshield. I looked at that same moon from here. The geese go south from there too? I saw a flock of grey Geese settle on the cove to stop overnight. Usually just see the Canadian ones here. My week-end of holiday work-orders is almost over. I hope you gave a good one!

Mama Zen -

I know - they are great.

Snaggle -

Ah - the worst is behind you. I'm glad. It's always interesting to think we are all looking at the same moon, isn't it?

Thank you!

What a delight you are! Thanks for sharing yourself with the Rest of us!!!!

I Love how the Geese change positions, in the V, so they all share the workload of the journey!

I almost crash on trips trying to take to many Through the window pics! LOL

Hugs,

John

nice description of the moon! I saw Lions and thought you might be talking about Detroit!

John -

OK - best not to be moving during "through the windshield" photography. :)

Sage -

No - but I'll root for the Tigers - what the heck.

The Lions strike a purposeful prose.

And how well the geese will conserve flying energies in that formation, changing positions at the front to rest awhile at the back before coming up front.

It is one of the great sights.

just wonder whether anybody can tell who was the sculptor that made (designed) the lions?
