A walk in the park, around the corner and a jewel

- It's just a walk in the park. And at a beautiful one, too. My favorite Tanyard Creek Park in Atlanta, just around the corner from the industrial area where I work. My after work walk included this stroll over the bridge that runs over Peachtree Creek.

- And a golf course named after a famous golfer, Bobby Jones, is on the path, right around the corner. Click to enlarge the picture and you can actually see some late afternoon golfers.

- The creek at the other end, bordering the dog park, in which a rousing game of frisbee involving multiple neighborhood dogs was in progress. The park was the scene of a famous Civil War battle, The Battle of Peachtree Creek. It's difficult to think of such a battle going on in this hidden jewel of a place.

I hope hidden jewels are in store for you this weekend, my friends. And I hope it's a great one!

Beautiful! I can't imagine a battle taking place in such a quiet, peaceful place. Enjoy your walks...and your weekend!! :)

Lovely--I've often thought the same thing about Kennesaw Mt (A place I often hike when visiting in-laws).

So beautiful. I'm on my way to AC, NJ this weekend. I'll enjoy color on the drive up the turnpike and then I'll enjoy the color of the neon lights. :)

I will look for the 'hidden jewels,' Lynn! Beautiful shot of the rocks; I absolutely love broad, flat rocks, like that!

Granny Annie -

Thank you - it's a little inconvenient carrying my camera (in its case) when I am really supposed to be walking for exercise, but I took it for the team. :)

Scarlet -

Thanks Ily - you, too!

I can Kennesaw Mountain in the distance sometimes, but have never been there. I'll do that soon.

That sounds delightful - I hope you have fun!

Betty -

Thank you for walking with me!

Wow, nice place indeed! How could they battle there? All that beauty would make anyone want to throw down their rifles and dance! :)

Finally getting over here. Been busy with napping, then Dad's post.

And now... to the bath!! Not washing my hair tho -- gonnna wear my lucky blue hat today. Tonight will wash my locks after I give myself round two of the 30% glycolic acid home peel I bought online. Did the first application two weeks ago tonight. Drew a lot of zits out, so that was hopefully a GOOD thing. :) Amazing how my $40 supply might equal over $1000 treatments at a dermatologist's. So... I blonde my own roots, trim my own hair, do my own pedicures, and now I'm doing my own skin care too!!! Hey, why not?!!?? :) I did try the chemicl peels last year and they were great. I think that was just a 20% solution. It burns the glue from the top couple layers, letting the new skin up faster. Great for fine lines!!

whooohooooooo.

I want you to know that your blog is inspirational to me. I think of it often lately, and that reminds me to find things to be grateful for in the midst of difficult times.

Mama Zen -

It is and I love it there. I can't believe it took me over three years to discover it.

Jannie -

OK - I laughed at loud at the thought of the soldiers throwing down their rifles and dancing. :) Would that it have been so.

And my goodness - that is something about all that hair and grooming business. Your hair always looks beautiful, so keep on keeping on. :)

Sparkling Red -

Thank you for telling me that - it makes me want to keep doing it. And especially after reading all you have been through lately with your health. I'm glad I could do just a little to help with that, my friend.

Riot Kitty -

Thank you - I am so glad!

Greetings Lynn...came by from RK :)

I have not visited Atlanta only transit once when I connected a flight to Mobile.

Hubby was there many times on a road trip and he truly enjoys it.

This is a beautiful park :D

Ahhh, thanks. I do still have the alopecia areata, but it's holding its own, not advancing. God's way of telling me I look so much better with a side part!? :)

I have seen you around and thank you for coming by. I love Atlanta and glad your hubby likes it. I've never been to Mobile, but hear good things.

Beautiful Autumn park pics! Are those rocks n the top? Love that shot- Wish I had time n weather to stroll about a pretty golf course all day- I have to drive thru one on the way to Fav Beach n I always love the scenery there.
I always wonder why some dogs will play together while some odd balls want war... Like the blue reflection in the leaf-littered Creek. I guess the Civil War is what made the PeachTree name infamous- ?

I wish I had time to stroll all day, too - this was my one hour exercise walk after work last week. :)
