Cat vs. Piñata, memories and beautiful noise
- Something fun for Friday/weekend - Cat vs. Piñata. I love that this was one made just for cats (you'll see.) The maker of the video posted it on YouTube with this message: "Made this piñata for our rescue cat Charlie to help him celebrate Cinco de Mayo tomorrow as well as his one year anniversary of being ours. Like so many shelter cats, Charlie was on the verge of being euthanized."
- I was lead to this little video after viewing a film called, "What do books do when people aren't around?" from my county library's blog. It can be viewed here. It reminded me of that old cartoon that shows a kitchen at night with the salt and pepper shakers dancing, and all the cutlery in motion, etc. and they scramble back in place when the humans come back.
- A late afternoon walk in the mostly silent park, until rounding the corner and a sight to behold: the swings full of squealing laughing toddlers in motion. The mom and nanny brigade surrounding them all smiles.
I hope your weekend includes some fun and laughter my friends! Happy Friday!

Oh, I love it. Kitty, victorious! (of course.)
The book video made my day. The colors and creativity made me smile. You have a wonderful weekend, too. :)
I should feed my cats every day like that! What a cute hoot!
God bless your weekend, Lynn!
I love the kibble-stuffed pinata! That is very creative.
That was pretty cute - for a cat - haha. sandie
I'm so glad Charlie has a such a wonderful life now. I always suspected inanimate objects get up to all sorts of mischief :)
Have a beautiful weekend, Lynn!

Charlie reminds of my late kitty Cleo - solid and determined.

I loved that video, too. Especially the message at the end. I don't think I'll ever get tired of reading actual books with pages that turn.

I'm glad you liked it. :) God bless your weekend, too, my friend.
Sparkling Red -
I know - isn't it great?
Sandie -
Especially cute because it's a cat. :)

I'll bet you know the cartoon I'm talking about. :) Hope you have a great weekend, too!
Loved them both. Jazz n Jewel would love their own pinata (underprivileged they are). And I know what books do when no-one is looking. In this house they breed. Prolifically.
Thank you for this delightful post. Have a great weekend.
Very kewl video.
So funny. The cat was saved and one can see that she's happy! And a good "hunter"! LOL...

Rescued pets are the best behaved, n happiest kind! So nice plus original of Charlie's owner to have him celebrate that way. I've done some exhausting stop-action n claymation short films while in college (on vhs). I love rambunctious toddlers having fun- So full of life. Haven't been to the swings with them since the warm part of December- Got a little Park right up the block where I visit the Little Ones sometimes. That spot can get wild with alot of kids about.
Hum,I might just have to get my cats a pinata. Wonder if that was just food inside it or catnip?
Not sure about the books. I didn't see the link for the video so I'll have to go back. It is fun to wonder what would happen if books came alive in our absence. Would history be repeating itself over, and over and over?
Those moms and nannys are smiling because the kids are climbing on the playground equipment and not them.
The Elephant's Child -
Jazz and Jewel are great names for cats. :) And books grow prolifically at my house, too - I have stacks of them everywhere. No Kindle for me.

Thank you -

One lucky kitty to have such a thoughtful owner.

Absolutely - I love that stop motion animation, too.
And it was wonderful to hear the lovely laughter.
Granny Annie -
It looked like cat treats to me. And if you go back, click on the word "here" that's underlined and it will take you to to the book video.
lol - you are probably right!
The video made me smile. What a great idea too. I love the way the cat just slowly created the hole and didn't wreck the whole thing. :D
What a treat, my cats would have loved that.
Have a lovely weekend Lynn. :)
meow.
That pinata is SUCH a great idea! Our chubby older cat could benefit from exercising for his supper! :) The music in that was so awesome too!! Very energizing.
The toddler brigade in the park reminds me of that movie with Kate Winslet in the red bathing suit. Did you see that one? Kinda strange movie actually, and definitely not for kids' eyes.
Extra-lovely post, my dear. Thank you.
xoxoxo
I had a late afternoon ski today. a blessed cat!
Aww! That was adorable! Both of our cats are rescue kitties from a no-kill shelter. I think they would have been a bit more vicious with the pinata.
Yay, Kitty! I love it!
pretty cute! thanks for sharing, lynn.
it just put a smile on my face.
thank you.

It's been lovely so far and I hope yours has been, too.

That music was great and went along perfectly with the video. I'm glad you liked it.
Yes - I saw that Kate Winslet film you speak of - definitely not for the kiddies, as you say. :) But you are right - I hadn't thought of that scene.
Sage -
It's the time of day I'm most likely to get to exercise - sounds the same for you.
Riot Kitty -
Get one and try it out! That guy made this one.
Mama Zen -
I'm glad.
Betty -
Then my job is done! Thank you.
I'm already laughing!
THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
John
that looks just like my girlfriend's cat. I can imagine him doing that.
John -
Laughing is good. :)
Adam -
Thanks for stopping by!
It's not very different from euthanizing a potential for happiness before it's been given its chance.
Anil P -
I get your point.
