Venti sized, peacock feather and candlelight

- Coffee Frappuccino for Lynn!  The four best words I heard all day yesterday.  I had earned 15 points from Starbucks and earned the right to have a free drink, so I went for the Venti size.  :)

- Spotted on a woman in a shop:  a beautifully done tattoo that features a colorful peacock feather that goes from inside wrist to elbow.

- The neighbors downstairs had an extra smoky fire in their fireplace, leaving my place smelling a little smoky, too.  But finding the solution of having a candle burning in every room solved the problem and the flickering candlelight made all my rooms look beautiful.

If it's free, of course you go for the venti size.

My spouse has a huge peacock tattoo on his arm from wrist to elbow. It is not lovely and it covers what was once a naked woman tattoo. Sailors...what can you say.

Weren't the candles smokey too?

I've never had a Frappuccino. I hope it was delicious. An EXTRA smokey fire? Are their regular fires just plain smokey? yuk. Glad the candles worked.

I need a venti right now. Venti reminds me of the wind because wind in French is "le vent." Wonder if there's any connection?

Yesterday my whole 20-oz lovely organic breakfast blend flew to the wind, well actually down to the leaves as I was carrying too much stuff as I attempted to open our door. And down the coffee went.

Does the smoke come under the door? Or up through the floor?

See you later!

Yes Lynn~ we are living with the fire smell right now. If there is a downdraft on the mountain, it can get a little overwhelming on and off. That is a BIG cup of coffee. Could you drink it all?
:-)
P.S. We are supposed to get SNOW Friday so I might have a cache of good pics from it!

Granny Annie -

lol - did he cover up the naked woman before he met you or after? My dad was a sailor - he said his father begged him to not get a tattoo when he was off to war and he didn't. Gramps got blood poisoning from his - he had an unfinished indian chief head on his shoulder. They probably weren't as careful back then though.

No - the candles weren't smoky. Actually I had six different scented candles burning in the different rooms - a little overwhelming at one point with the different scents.

It's a once in a while treat for me since they are high in calories, but it was totally worth it yesterday.

I can always tell when they've had a fire in the fireplace - there is a faint scent of woodsmoke. But this time it was awful and pervasive - just hung in the air. I wondered if they were cooking meat in the fireplace, so I texted him and asked if they were burning hickory wood. He said no, just wood that was damp and that made it smoke up like it did. They are sorry. And I am understanding. :)

Jannie -

I wish you were here to have a venti with me. :) I just stopped and got my more usual nonfat latte.

I looked it up - venti is the Italian word for twenty. The venti size at Starbucks is 20 ounces. A little trivia we have here today. Sorry your venti coffee blew over!

xo

Betty -

Me, too! And thank you - I put the camera effect called "glow" on it. :)

I don't like that smell. I'm sorry you have fire that is that close!

I have gas logs which makes for a nice non-wood burning smell.

Yes - I had the rest of that drink down in five minutes. I was in the recording booth for my recording for the blind session. I probably don't need to have so much caffeine so close to bedtime in the future - I was still wide awake at 10pm. :)

Looking forward to seeing those snow pics!

Exactly - I like that, as well.

That is a huge cuppa.

I have been noticing just how many people have tatoos now. In the swimming pool changeroom I am in the minority because I don't have one. And at the shops. And the library. And ...

We often burn scented candles - but only one scent at a time.

Great post. Thanks.

Size matters, and large is nice! When it comes to coffee, that is. ;)

I wish you'd got a shot of the tattoo it sounds great!

I must admit I love the smell of fires, but hate the smell of cigarettes.

Nice that you got a free drink! I don't think I've ever had the Venti size. I should treat myself!

I love the smell of firewood, but extra smoky doesn't sound good. Glad you had some nice candles burning. LOVE my scented Yankee Candles...anything citrus mixed with vanilla is wonderful!

Definate score!, as long as all the extra caffiene doesn't give you a head-ache that is-
I have a beautiful, real peacock feather which are sold at the pet store! I don't let Mischief play with it tho- It's keeping drumsticks, a wand, a gull, a crow, n an eagle feather company in a jar in the corner.
Smoke n soot can be a big problem, sometimes discoloring the wall paint too- Glad the candles worked. I still have tea lights to use up from the power out, plus add to the ambience for you!

I think that venti has MY name on it!

The Elephant's Child -

I know - I see them all over, too. I have never wanted to be inked - so we have that in common!

Riot Kitty -

lol! I know what you mean. ;)

Joe -

I like the scent of an outdoor fire, but I don't like it when it gets in my house like that.

Scarlet -

I love candles, too. And definitely treat yourself, chica!

Sandie -

That sounds neat!

Real peacocks are neat - and that's cool that you have a real feather.

Mama Zen -

I'll bet. :)

Oooh, the peacock feather tattoo sounds lovely! I really like the peacock colour palette - a lot of my wardrobe is in those colours. That being said, I recently saw a TV show on renaissance gardens, and they showed this one in Italy that has pure white peacocks strolling all through it! I wouldn't have believed my eyes, except it turns out that my mother has actually been there herself, on a holiday, and witnessed the beautiful garden and the albino peacocks in person.

Sparkling Red -

I have never heard of albino peacocks - how lovely they must be.
