Coming in April, in and out and life is a journey

- This is a fun challenge that I heard about on Melissa Ann Goodwin's blog a few weeks ago - Blogging from A to Z Challenge April 2012.  It all began last year when a blogger named Arlee Bird tossed out this challenge:  "Can you post every day except Sundays during this month? And to up the bar, can you blog thematically from A to Z?"  Posting every day in April except for Sunday will take me through all 26 letters of the alphabet.  I am #151 on a current list of bloggers committing to do this that has grown to more than 700 so far.  You can read about it here.  I will do my usual good things, but the first one with photo will feature a good thing that is associated with the letter of the day.  :)  No worries - I've already thought of something for Q.

- Assembling a pile to take to Goodwill this morning and vowing to stick to it.  An old TV that works great, a wall telephone with a cord and a big basket with a handle.  Bringing so much family heirloom (or electronic) stuff from mom's place means other stuff from my place has to go.  Or in the case of the telephone, makes me wonder why I brought that home in the first place.

- Rediscovering the message stitched into the edge of the inner pocket of my jacket, "Life is a journey. Stay warm. Keep dry."

I hope your journey takes you to good places and things this weekend, my friends.  I hope it's lovely.

The A-Z challenge sounds interesting. Wow. I love bringing stuff to Good Will. We just don't happen to have a Good Will in the area. I'm glad you're enjoying your journey. You sound good, I hope you are.

Thank Goddess it isn't another haiku month!

Wow that's some challenge, which I wouldn't attempt!

Yesterday I gave a whole bag of things to a charity shop. It does feel good to feel they will be put to good use rather than thrown away.

I'm still thinking about the A-Z challenge.

I should have incorporated the A-Z challenge in my efforts to complete the 52 I needed. That would have taken care of half...if I could have had them done by March 9th.

Goodwill is great place to shop. A person can find some real treasures there. I buy at Goodwill and the things I buy eventually end up in storage with the things that I plan to donate to Goodwill. LOL

Why aren't there any messages in the pockets of my jackets? I am jealous.

Lynn~ That's funny...we just finished a challenge to write a poem
(this is a prompt)using the alphabet
A-z. This poem (not one of ours) was MY FAVORITE.

ABC

I’ll never find out now
What A. thought of me.
If B. ever forgave me in the end.
Why C. pretended everything was fine.
What part D. played in E.’s silence.
What F. had been expecting, if anything.
Why G. forgot when she knew perfectly well.
What H. had to hide.
What I. wanted to add.
If my being around
meant anything
to J. and K. and the rest of the alphabet.

Ahhhh, a post as sweet as its lovely authoress!!

That April challenge sounds really wonderful. "Maybe One April" I'll give it a whirl. And is that a song title?? :) Methinks so. But... first I shall sculpt further upon the melody for a tune I do believe will be called "Open The Eyes In Your Heart." Actually, I'll start notating that in my Finale notepad, probably right after I post this comment to my dear dear blogging friend, Lynn of The Good Things. Very happy with my stick-to-it-ive-ness to songs this morning so far!

hmmn, sell that phone on eBay!!? :) :)

I too love giving stuff to Goodwill and such-like places. Never miss the stuff, and hope someone else really needed it!

xoxo

Goes off thinking... Maybe one April, maybe one May I'll mop my floor and give that old phone away... :) :)

I'm getting there - still grieving. But my overall journey is good, as always.

I just have way too much stuff, but it's mostly all good - nothing moving into a larger place wouldn't take care of, but that's doesn't make sense. So I need to think about parting with some more stuff and giving to Goodwill.

FB -

If it was Haiku month, I'd never think of doing that. :)

Joe -

I'm sure it will be one of those things in which I'll be smacking myself on the forehead and asking what was I thinking?

happygirl -

You post most every day anyway, right? You could totally do that. It sounds like fun to me.

Granny Annie -

Sounds as if you are closing in on that goal. I'm enjoying your marathon posts.

One of my coworkers buys most of her clothes at Goodwill and she always looks great. There's no store in my orbit, but there's a drop off place just up the street.

I had forgotten about the message and then spotted it again - I love that special touch.

lg -

What a fun poem that is. I'll bet that was a fun challenge, too. I'm going to start collecting photos now so I can be ahead of the game. :)

Jannie -

And how sweet you are to say I'm sweet! I'll bet you could do 26 songs from A to Z. :)

I've never sold anything on ebay - it's just easier to give it away...

xoxoxo

Sage -

I understand and look forward to your comments. :)

That challenge sounds pretty cool! Think you could throw a haiku or two in there for Fireblossom?

Riot Kitty said...

Wow! That is a lot of blogging. I am curious what you will do for Q, too.

Sandie -

If you blog every day anyway - how could you go wrong with a challenge like that?

John -

Thank you - I look forward to it, I think. :) Lots of work, blogging every day.

Mama Zen -

I think we know what the H day is going to involve now. :)

Riot Kitty -

Ah - Q will be easy. :)

That challenge sounds awesome. As a non player I will sit back and enjoy the wonderful things some of my favourite bloggers do, without having to exert myself. Goodness that sounds selfish. I am looking forward to it though.

Good luck with your challenge! That's alot of signed up folks. Wish I had more time for things like that. MB had a photo challenge list for Feb at Blonde at Times which seemed good also.
Sometimes I need a wall phone when the power goes out, mine won't work- I have my Mom's somewhere n could't find it after the hurricane- been put away too long!
Enjoy your week-end journey, it's another whirlwind at work to get thru for me.

Yeah, I heard about that challenge as well. Sounds like a fun meme to take part of.

Will be looking forward to your version of it.

You can find a lot of good schtuff at Goodwill these days.

yay for the A-Z challenge! I can't wait to see what you post!

The April challenge sounds like fun. I can't imagine taking a picture for every letter of the alphabet but I'll stay tuned to see what you post!

Hope your journey takes you to beautiful places this weekend!! Stay warm. :)

I love the message stitched on the inside of your jacket! Mine only has washing instructions.

I might have to try this myself.

The Elephant's Child -

I'm already thinking, "What was I thinking?" But with some planning ahead I should be able to do it. I used to post every day - then started taking Sundays off, then the weekend, then finally went to MWF, which works for me.

Snaggle -

I hope work is flying by for you. I hope you had a good day.

G -

That must have been a well made TV - it was 25 years old and still worked perfectly. I got the flat screen from mom's place and put it in my bedroom. It's a novelty to have such a good picture back there.

Joanne -

Thank you - I look forward to your visits!

Scarlet -

It's been a busy day today - but lovely. The journey continues...

Sparkling Red -

I was startled when I saw it the first time, then forgot about it. I noticed it again the other day. A lovely touch.

Travis -

Let me know if you do.

Thanks for visiting! I am looking forward to it. I'll visit you shortly.
